Nynaeve's point of view
Nynaeve goes to visit Nesta din Reas Two Moons, the Mistress of the Ships. Her boat is destroyed and sinks with her on it. Unable to break free, she finally surrenders to saidar and her block is broken. She tries to swim and is rescued by Lan. He explains that Myrelle holds his bond. He tells her that balefire was responsible for the ship sinking and Nynaeve realizes it was Moghedien. She goes to the Sea Folk vessel to marry Lan.
Elayne's point of view
Elayne and the other Aes Sedai visit Reanne, who starts to apologize profusely to Merilille. She is told to direct her apology to Elayne. Elayne tells her the Tower has always known of the Kin and forces her to admit that they know where there may be ter'angreal. The Aes Sedai are shocked that they number almost 1800, though Reanne at first thinks this is because they expected more. Mat arrives and tells them he followed a woman to a storehouse in the Rahad. Elayne asks Reanne how old she is and all the Aes Sedai are shocked when she reveals that she is over four hundred.
