Lord Aldecain of House Damodred was brother to King Laman. He was killed in the fighting during the Battle of the Shining Walls along with Laman and Moressin, his other brother.
Aldecain was cruel and had a bad temper.
Aldecain held Moiraine's father in contempt because he was a scholar and he married another scholar after the death of his first wife. Aldecain believed that he should have married a noblewoman to increase the prestige and fortune of House Damodred. Moiraine disliked him because of this and felt no sadness upon being informed of his death.
