Alpert is an Andoran farmer who offers Rand and Mat a ride in his wagon after they flee Four Kings. He is a solid man with square hands and face; his hands and face are worn and grooved from hard work and worry. He complains to Rand and Mat about the troubles afflicting his farm; when he drops Rand and Mat off, he gives them each a scarf.
