Ander is a bootmaker in the city of Taien; he survives the Shaido's attack on the city. He looks gaunt and lost. His wife is Aril and his brother-in-law is Tal Nethin. Ander tells Rand that the bodies have not been buried because the Shaido left them as a message for some man who was following them.
