Com is a Tairen child of a poor family and about 10 years old. He is ragged and dirty.

When Rand sees Poel's steamwagon in Tear and asks himself what it is, Com corrects the information his friend Doni gives Rand. They both have seen the invention several times before.

Rand gives both of them a gold crown. Later, he tells the Defenders of the Stone to go look for Com and Doni and put them under their protection, because Rand thinks Min had a negative viewing about them.
