General

Elegar is a lesser Andoran noble and a Darkfriend. He has a narrow face and thin lips (TFoH, Prologue).

Rand uses the word "nervous" for Elegar's brief description, which is certainly because he is faithful to his vows to the Shadow and afraid of being discovered. Rand disclosed to the nobles sworn to Lord Gaebril that their master was the Forsaken Rahvin and it would not be pleasant for Elegar if Rand ever found out just how loyal he had been to "Lord Gaebril" (TFoH, Prologue; LoC, Ch. 1).

Timeline

• After Rahvin ends his meeting with a young Red sister, he orders Elegar to escort her out discreetly (TFoH, Prologue).

• He watches Rand's performance with the sword among a crowd of lords and ladies sworn to Lord Gaebril. He praises Rand's skill and wisdom. He looks about to faint when Rand mentions Sammael (LoC, Ch. 1).

• He retches when Taim is escorted into the courtyard (LoC, Ch. 2).
