Elver Shaene is the owner of a long boat. He is possibly from Murandy, as he wears a coat of Murandian cut. He is skinny and nearly bald, with only a thin fringe of gray hair left.
When Rand goes to meet with the Sea Folk on the River Alguenya, Elver Shaene carries him and his companions to the Sea Folk ship. He tells Rand that it is an honor to carry him on his ship, but he seems very nervous and mops his head with a large handkerchief. Rand thinks to himself that Elver would plainly rather have his ship full of live vipers.
