A similar entry appears in the Wheel of Time Companion confirming the information available in the main story arc.

The Fingers of the Dragon is a vast delta in Tear where the Erinin flows into the Sea of Storms (TSR, Ch. 2). Many fishermen work there (TSR, Ch. 2) and Tear uses prisoners to clear the silt and keep the water free (TSR, Ch. 50).

According to Tear law, no ship is allowed to sail in or out of the city through the Fingers of the Dragon without a Tairen pilot on board (TSR, Ch. 20). However, after the execution of Nesta, Sea Folk ships in large numbers sailed though them to Tear without pilots (WH, Ch. 9).
