What is JALGC?

The long and short of it:

JALGC stands for "Just a Little Gray Conspiracy." It actually started as GC, or "Gray Conspiracy," but then JALGC sounded more confusing.

When I joined the Ajah back in mid 2003, it was just sort of something that Grays posted about in public forums to confuse other people and make them perk their interest a bit. Think of DM's "The Plan." The idea was actually that it might become some sort of recruitment thing, like a plot to get new Accepted. This was back in the days when Ajahs used to actually recruit Accepted....those days are long gone, of course.

Well one night when I couldn't sleep, my mind drifted off and I got this idea to turn JALGC into a whole week-long extravaganza of fun and games for the Tower.

So in Fall of 2003, JALGC was revitalized! We had a scavenger hunt around the site, a message board hunt, trivia, riddles, etc etc etc.....all week long. Every day there was a new activity, and throughout the entire week were some overarching events like the message board hunt. Participants received points for every activity they did or won. At the end of the week, the person with the most points was the JALGC winner!

People seemed to like it quite a bit. Some of the activities we did were games in IRC. After the week of JALGC ended, we kept going with the IRC games. Every week we'd host another game in #oldewarderandhen.

In March of 2004, we did another JALGC event, this one themed for St Patrick's Day. We all changed our avatars and had similar games and activities for everyone.

The IRC games continued on, of course. They were going strong for about a year or so, until they died when no one was able to consistently put in the time to maintain them.

This was relatively revived in 2008 with an 80's theme of games and events but has since then fallen to the history books.
