General

Kumira is an Aes Sedai of the Brown Ajah from Shienar. She is weak in the One Power, though not so weak as Daigian. She is one of Cadsuane's followers (TPoD, Ch. 12).

Kumira is a handsome woman with short-cut hair and blue eyes that change from sharp to warm when she smiles (TPoD, Ch. 12).

She has a very good mind and is able to sort and file away everything that she hears. She is hardheaded and practical. Unlike most other Browns, she never loses herself so deeply in thought that she loses sight of the world around her. As is often seen with Shienarans, she takes care not to offend by accident. Cadsuane thinks that nothing can subdue Kumira for long (TPoD, Ch. 12).

Timeline

Relationships with other Characters

Kumira is one of Cadsuane's followers. Cadsuane thinks that Kumira is a keen observer (TPoD, Ch. 12).

Since Kumira is so weak in the One Power, she is treated by other Aes Sedai as only a little better than Daigian, who is treated as little better than a servant (TPoD, Ch. 12).

Miscellaneous

Quotes

"I would rather an ounce of hard proof than a hundredweight of your White Ajah logic." (Kumira to Daigian; The Path of Daggers, Chapter 12).

"The Counsels are seldom happy to see Aes Sedai, especially sisters born here. I think they would like to pretend the Power doesn't exist. Well, their history gives them reason, and for the last two thousand years they have had the means to support the pretense. In any event, Cadsuane is Cadsuane. She seldom sees a swelled head without deciding to deflate it, even when it happens to be wearing a crown. Or a Counsel's diadem. Her last visit was over twenty years ago, during the Aiel War, but I suspect some who remember it will want to hide under their beds when they learn she is back." (Kumira to Shalon and Harine about the Counsels of Far Madding; Winter's Heart, Chapter 24).

"Young man, have you considered the possibility of failure? Have you considered the consequences of failure?" (Kumira to Rand about his plan to cleanse saidin; Winter's Heart, Chapter 24).
