Laerid Traehand
From Tar Valon Library
Author: Atarah al'Norahn
General
Laerid Traehand is a minor Andoran nobleman. He supports Elayne's bid for the throne (KoD, Ch. 17).
He is a stocky, taciturn man, and usually as solid as stone (KoD, Ch. 17).
Elayne thinks to herself that Arymilla inside the walls with three thousand men would likely fail to upset Laerid (KoD, Ch. 17).
Timeline
- Upon learning of the siege of Caemlyn, Laerid rides to Elayne's support with whatever he can find and does not turn back on learning the odds (KoD, Ch. 17).
- On her way to the Map Room, Elayne stops to exchange pleasantries with him. His brow is furrowed and he is worried. Elayne wonders if he is worried over Arymilla's confidence, but then thinks that that wouldn't be enough to worry Laerid. Birgitte thinks that he may be worried over the palace changing around (KoD, Ch. 17).
- When Birgitte arrives at one of the Traveling grounds to lead the soldiers in the rescue of Elayne from the Black Ajah, she finds all of the lords and ladies loyal to Elayne gathered and mounted. Laerid rides down to lead his men, not hesitating when his banner appears (KoD, Ch. 32).
