General
Melare is anAes Sedai of the Red Ajah who was one of the group to catch Leane in the process of turning the south harbor chain to cuendillar (KoD, Prologue). Although she doesn't believe Egwene about Leane having been Healed, she is willing to consider the possibility and ask Leane suitable questions. She is one of the Aes Sedai selected to approach the Black Tower to ask if they may bond Asha'man, so Travels there with Pevara, Javindhra, Tarna, Jezrail and Desala. She has some skill in Healing and offers to Heal Mishrail after Taim clubs him. She is young enough to have grandnephews at school, and pays for their education, as she did her neices and nephews (KoD, Epilogue). She is plump with black eyebrows over blue eyes (Knife of Dreams: Prologue) and considered witty (Knife of Dreams: Epilogue).
