Melare is an [[Aes Sedai]] of the [[Red Ajah]] who was one of the group to catch [[Leane]] in the process of turning the [[Southharbor]] chain to ''[[cuendillar]]'' ({{prol11}}). Although she doesn't believe [[Egwene]] about Leane having been [[Healing#Stilling|Healed]], she is willing to consider the possibility and ask Leane suitable questions. She is one of the Aes Sedai selected to approach the [[Black Tower]] to ask if they may [[bond]] [[Asha'man]], so [[Travel]]s there with [[Pevara]], [[Javindhra]], [[Tarna]], [[Jezrail]] and [[Desala]]. She has some skill in [[Healing]] and offers to Heal [[Atal Mishraile|Mishraile]] after [[Taim]] clubs him. She is young enough to have grandnephews at school, and pays for their education, as she did her nieces and nephews ({{epi11}}).  She is plump with black eyebrows over blue eyes ({{prol11}}) and considered witty ({{epi11}}).
