Melten is soldier in the Band of the Red Hand. He is likely a Borderlander, though he dresses like an Andoran. After Talmanes takes a wound from a Thakan'dar forged blade, he gives him blisterleaf to slow the progress of the poison as well as Shienaran brandy. He offers to kill Talmanes when the pain grows too much and calls him Dreadbane, a Borderland title for one who has slain a Myrddraal.
