General

Nerim is a skinny, grey-haired. pale Cairhienin man, short even by their standards, with a long face. He is Talmanes' manservant (LoC, Ch. 5). He has a dour tone to his voice and an almost constant mournful expression (LoC, Ch. 5; Ch. 47; ACoS, Ch. 28).

Timeline

  • When he leaves Ebou Dar, Mat sends Nerim ahead (WH, Ch. 30).
  • Although not mentioned by name, he is most likely with the Band during the final confrontation with the Seanchan in "Knife of Dreams" (KoD, Ch. 37).

Miscellaneous

  • He is very competitive with Lopin over who can serve their master best (LoC, Ch. 47).
  • He is handy with a needle and often sews up Mat's wounds (WH, Ch. 30).
  • When with Mat, he frequently comments on how badly Talmanes must be doing without him (KoD, Ch. 8).

Quotes

"Pickled quail eggs my Lord, they would have gone very well with my Lord's breakfast in Ebou Dar" (To Mat, Lord of Chaos, Chapter 47).

"My Lord has blood on his coat again I fear. I do wish my Lord would be more careful of his clothes" (To Mat, A Crown of Swords, Chapter 16).
