Niella

Niella is Aviendha's first-sister and looks like her; she is a weaver and she is married (TFoH, Ch. 32). She is six to seven years older, less tan and a bit plumper. She was never a Maiden of the Spear (LoC, Ch. 18).
Timeline
- Niella is taken gai'shain by the Chareen Maidens during a raid on Sulara Hold (TFoH, Ch. 32).
- Sulin sends Niella to bring Rand food to eat; Rand and Aviendha have Traveled to Seanchan and Asmodean tells Niella that Rand and Aviendha don't want to be disturbed to keep Niella from seeing the still-open gateway (TFoH, Ch. 32).
- This makes Niella run out laughing; she goes and tells the Maidens that Rand and Aviendha are sleeping together. The Maidens then stand outside the window of Rand's room, shouting and beating their spears and bucklers (TFoH, Ch. 32).
- Aviendha says that Niella never wanted her to be a Maiden - she wanted her to get married. Aviendha vows that she will give Niella welts for what she did (TFoH, Ch. 32).
- Egwene encounters Niella when she goes looking for Rand in Cairhien; Egwene questions Niella about what Aviendha is doing with Amys, Bair and Melaine but Niella won't discuss anything (LoC, Ch. 18).
- Aviendha holds Niella to a standard twice as high as other gai'shain; Niella has completed over half of her year and a day of service. She will not remain gai'shain once her time is up; she feels she would be mocking ji'e'toh if she stayed gai'shain (LoC, Ch. 18).
