See What She Could See
Author: Eleyan Teyal Al'Landerin
A Tinker girl came into town
to see what she could see
"I'll go around and see this town,
and let no one get the best of me, of me,
I'll let no one get the best of me!"
She walked along the craggly road,
she bought herself a pin,
she bought herself some bubbly pies,
then came unto an Inn, an Inn,
She came unto an Inn.
She walked into the smokey room,
could hardly see at all!
Until she set her Tinker sights
unto a Warder tall, so tall!
Unto a Warder tall.
"Oh Tinker girl!" The Warder said
with a wink and smile, you see.
"Come right around and sit you down
right here upon my knee, my knee,
come sit upon my knee!"
"I will not sit," the girl replied,
"or dawdle on your knee.
You may have any maiden here,
but you cannot catch me, not me!
"oh no! you shan't catch me!"
"But Tinker girl, you wound my heart!"
The wiley Warder cried
"I want you for my only wife!
You know I have not lied, not lied,
You know I have not lied!"
"Alrighty then!" the young girl said
and sat upon his knee.
"I'll be your wife througout my life
and a faithful one I'll be, I'll be,
a faithful one I'll be!"
Then storming down the creaky stair
came his angry Aes Sedai.
"Think you girl to catch this man?
He's mine! Now you must die, must die!
By balefire you must die!"
"Oh honored one! I did not know!"
She whimpered and she moaned.
And so the merciful sister
only turned her to a toad, a toad
said "now her sin's atoned!"
The Warder tall he shook his head,
picked her up and mused awhile.
"I'll just put her with the other ones."
Then he began to smile, to smile,
Oh my how he did smile!
