Stayer is one of Perrin's horses, along with Stepper. He first gets him when chasing after the Aes Sedai capture Rand, as Stepper had been left behind in Caemlyn. He is a tall bay (LoC, Ch. 54). When he regains Stepper not long after, he decides to keep Stayer as well. When he fights at Dumai's Wells, he leaves both horses behind so as not to take them into danger.
