Stayer is one of Perrin's horses, along with Stepper. He first gets him when chasing after the Aes Sedai capture Rand, as Stepper had been left behind in Caemlyn. He is a tall bay with white forefeer (LoC, Ch. 54). Perrin names in Stayer as he "looks like a stayer", though at first he thought him to be not a patch on Stepper
When he regains Stepper not long after, he decides to keep Stayer as well. When he fights at Dumai's Wells, he leaves both horses behind so as not to take them into danger. He takes Stayer with him to Ghealdan (ACoS, Ch. 27).
