Grady points out that the Whitecloaks don't have asha'man which gives them a huge advantage and they have superior numbers. Grady asks Perrin if he can visit the Black Tower and see his family, explaining that the Taint has been cleansed and that he now has a reason to live. Perrin tells him he will have time to visit just not quite yet. As they are finishing up their talk Dain Bornhald from the Whitecloaks enters the camp. bornhald tells him that the Lord Captain Commander would like to speak with him down the road and that he has promised to let Perrin return safely. Perrin rides out and meets with Galad. Perrin asks for the return of his people but Galad accuses him of murder of two members of the Whitecloaks from two years before and of leading Trollocs to the Two Rivers. After, Perrin asks for a more formal parley but Galad refuses and tells Perrin that he will be judged in battle under the Light.
