Egwene al’Vere: Madeleine Madden

Welcome back dear readers, for a look at who will be playing what I call, “The Triple Threat.” Egwene al'Vere may not be Ta'veren like the boys; but along with Nynaeve and Elayne she was part of a group of three of the most powerful channelers in the series. I will leave it at that and allow you to read more for yourself if you haven’t already. Egwene’s role has been cast to be played by Madeleine Madden, an Australian actress of no small career. Let’s have a look, shall we?

Filmography

Madeleine Madden has been making waves in Australia for over a decade now. She made an address to the nation at age thirteen in 2010, and shortly after began her acting career. Madden starred in shorts and bit parts from 2009 until 2013 when she began working on acclaimed series’ such as Redfern Now, The Code, and Ready for This. Ready for This was cited as being Australia’s first indigenous teen drama. Her later works include The Moodys, Jack Irish, and Tomorrow, When the War Began — which is based on the John Marsden young adult novel series. She has spent most of her long career in television series, but has graced the big screen recently, voicing Sammy in Dora and the Lost City of Gold. I am rather taken with the casting choice here. I couldn’t have found a more influential and dedicated actress suited for Egwene and I think she’s going to be an amazing fit.

Let me show them what they taught me!

Up until now I have given brief synopsis for every actor’s work to a certain degree, but the sheer volume and influence of Madden’s career gave me a great deal of trouble singling out and summarizing any one thing. She definitely has the chops and experience to fit the role, and you should be excited as I am to see how she’ll continue to grow with and as Egwene.

If you wish to look further in depth on the information presented here the link to Madden’s IMDB page. All information provided in this article came from here.

Once again I would like to thank each of you for taking the time to read my articles. I can’t do an article on Egwene and not bring the spotlight to the Wisdom of Emond’s Field next. Get ready for Nynaeve al'Meara in next months post!
