Willim of Manaches was a famous essayist. He influenced many writers, among them Shivena Kayenzi (NS, Ch. 8).
As a part of Moiraine's Accepted training, Meilyn Arganya question her on the influence Willim had on Shivena (NS, Ch. 8).
The Essays of Willim of Manaches can be found almost anywhere. Among others, copies of the book are in the property of Basel Gill (TEotW, Ch. 36), Ailhuin Guenna (TDR, Ch. 49) and Loial (CoT, Ch. 24).
His name is sometimes written "Maneches" instead of "Manaches".
