Wrapped In A Ribbon
Author: Zara Ravenwood
Wrapped in a ribbon
I went to see my love
In a skirt woven of ribbon
And nothing above
I crawled to his window
And what did I see
I nearly fainted at it!
Him embracing a woman other then me.
Wrapped in a ribbon
I went to see my love
In a skirt woven of ribbon
And nothing above
Her hair was a wig of flax
Her lips painted red
Her eyes lined in scarlet
As she lay on his bed.
Wrapped in a ribbon
I went to see my love
In a skirt woven of ribbon
And nothing above
I softly channeled
Weaves of Spirit and Air
Till they slept softy
Without a care
Wrapped in a ribbon
I went to see my love
In a skirt woven of ribbon
And nothing above
In to their bedroom
Sofly did I slip
And removed from the building
All garments except
One loose green ribbion
I tied around their waist
I sped out of the building
And ran home in haste
Wrapped in a ribbon
I went to see my love
In a skirt woven of ribbon
And nothing above
Now garbed
In ouise Atier
Not a hint of ribbon or trim
Down to his house, I did consper
Wrapped in a ribbon
I went to see my love
In a skirt woven of ribbon
And nothing above
Before I got there
I ran to the Town bell
Rung it loudly and cried
"Awake ! All's not well"
Wrapped in a ribbon
I went to see my love
In a skirt woven of ribbon
And nothing above
"Fire, Fire!
At my beloved's home
It's on fire!
And he's all alone!"
Wrapped in a ribbon
I went to see my love
In a skirt woven of ribbon
And nothing above
The Towns folk balked
"Fire at the lads house!"
Then ran to him, crying,
And his sense did they pronounce
Wrapped in a ribbon
I went to see my love
In a skirt woven of ribbon
And nothing above
For when they got there
He was awaiting but the cry
and jumped out of his window
his Lady by his side
Wrapped in but a ribbon
The Who Town Ved by love
They wore only but one ribbon
Nothing else below or above.
