Ortis is a squadmen with the Mayener Winged Guards. He is one of the soldiers to accompany Berelain when she goes with Perrin into Ghealdan.
He is in his middle years and has a gravelly voice. On one cheek he has a livid burn, and on the other a scar that pulls up the corner of his mouth.
Ortis and some of the other Winged Guards come upon several men burning a farm, with the farm folk still inside. They capture the men and bring them to Perrin, who orders them to be hanged.
