General
Lord Bertome is a Cairhienin nobleman and is High Seat of House Saighan. He gained control of his House when Colavaere, his cousin, committed suicide (TPoD, Ch. 21).
Bertome is short and ruggedly handsome. He has shaved the front part of his head (TPoD, Ch. 21).
Timeline
- Bertome becomes High Seat of House Saighan (TPoD, Ch. 21).
- Bertome joins Rand's army for the assault on the Seanchan (TPoD, Ch. 21).
- Bertome returns to Cairhien with Rand (TPoD, Ch. 27).
- Bertome claims one of the estates when Elayne strips Arymilla, Elenia, and Naean of theirs (ToM, Ch. 50).
Relationships
Colavaere was Bertome's favourite cousin though many say that he does not mourn her death. Rand does not trust him because of Colavaere (TPoD, Ch. 21; Ch. 24).
Bertome was childhood friends with Doressin of House Chuliandred (TPoD, Ch. 24).
He does not think much of High Lord Weiramon (TPoD, Ch. 24).
