Beside the obvious "it felt like home" answer, I really deeply identify with being a "Seeker after a Cause". Each of us have our own Cause that we champion in our own way, using whatever talents and resources we're blessed with - whether it's a social cause, a belief, or simlpy standing up in defense of those we love - and that's a really beautiful thing.

*;Are you like the Blues in the Books?
+
*;Are you like the Blues in the books? Do you plot and manipulate? Do you travel a lot?
To an extent. The book Blues seem like a very down-to-earth, appropriately-laid-back bunch around each other, but when it's time for business, they get down to business. That's what I feel I identify with most.
+
I certainly wouldn't call myself manipulative, but I've been known to orchestrate a plot now and again. I love the idea of travelling and wish I had the money to do so more often. :p

*;Do you plot and manipulate? Do you travel a lot?
+
*;Do you have a favorite Blue Ajah character from the novels?
Plot, yes. Manipulate, not so much, unless "if you don't do this I'll pout and believe me you don't want to have me pouting" counts. Travel, I wish.
+
Siuan was my favorite. I always thought of Moiraine as being quintessentially Blue, but I adore Siuan for her rough edges.

*;How was your time as Citizen/Novice/Accepted?
+
*;How long have you been a fan of the Wheel of Time series?
Lovely! And kind of long. I was an Accepted for almost a year. =p
+
Since I was about 19 or 20, I think.

*;How long have you been a member of TV.net?
+
*;How did you first get into the series?
Roughly a year and seven months.
+
A friend of mine had been pestering me to get into it since we were in high school. Considering the series has been going for over twenty years, I guess I'm a bit of a late bloomer. :p

*;What things do you do for TV.net?
+
*;Who is your favorite "hero"?
...er... nothing yet. x)
+
I always found myself giving more attention to Mat's POV than any other throughout the books. He's honestly flying by the seat of his pants much of the time, even after he gets that unintentional Age of Legends memory upgrade. Min is a favorite as well, for being the comparatively normal person in a world that is more and more thoroughly going to pot. Lan and Thom Merrilin also make the list for being BAMFs. :p

*;How did you get to read the Series?
+
*;Favorite bad guy/gal?
I... hm. I can't remember. A friend of mine recommended me to it, no doubt.
+
Of the Big Bads, Semirhage would be my fave, for having the ability to utterly dismantle you with a Q-Tip, a penny and a wad of chewing gum. However, nothing scared me quite so much as Shaidar Haran. Betch be cray-cray. >.>

*;To whom are you bonded, if you're bonded?
+
*;Favorite book and scene?
Nobody, at least, not yet! I need to get to know the TV.net bros better. =p
+
Favorite books would be The Great Hunt, The Shadow Rising, Knife of Dreams. Favorite scene of literally the entire series was Mat blowing the Horn of Valere in TGH and the BAMF-ness that ensued. At this point (January 2013) I have yet to read AMoL, so that could change. :p

*;Who is your mentee, if you have one?
+
*;If you were set down in Randland, who/what would you see yourself as? An Aes Sedai? Innkeeper? Seanchan Captain?
Woika Ninue. *loves*
+
I could honestly see myself being exactly who I am around TV.net: a Blue Aes Sedai who's all up in the outside world and needs to stop by the Tower for tea more often. :p

*;Who's your favorite character of the Series? Favorite Nation?
+
*;How did you find TarValon.Net and what convinced you to stay and become a Senior Member?
I love Birgitte. She's got this attitude that I can only summarize as "I'm a Hero of the Horn, and I'm gonna kick your butt. And even if right now I'm not technically a Hero of the Horn, you best believe I'm gonna kick your butt." It's great. ^^
+
I think I found TV.net through Dragonmount somehow. I liked the idea that we could earn our ranks but that it wasn't an out-and-out RP atmosphere; we are very much ourselves, but with shawls. :p The longer I stayed, the more I was able to forge a relationship with the ladies who eventually became my Ajah sisters, and that's essentially what keeps me coming back now. (That being said, I do recognize that I need to poke my head out of the Blue Chambers a little more often. :p)

*;Favorite nation
+
*;What do you do in "real life"?
Not sure. Will get back to you on that one. =p
+
Marketing Co-Ordinator for a small Toronto credit union, church choir director, erstwhile piano teacher, occasional wedding singer, and aunt to the most awesome little terror ever. ^o^

*;Have you ever attended any Real Life Functions? Did you like them if you did, and why? (Why do you think people should come to any future functions?)
+
*;Do you have any hobbies?
I'd meant to go to Fall Ball 2006, seeing as it was right on my doorstep, but no dice. As of now, I've never been to any RL functions, but I definitely plan to someday; it's good to be able to put a face and voice to the words you see on-screen, and to see how the camraderie you forge in the forums operates in real life.
+
Writing (bad prose, worse poetry), performing and creating music (piano, vocal, guitar when I can be arsed), reading, video games, and fangirling. :p

*;What kind of music do you like?
+
*;What kind of music do you enjoy listening to?
Just about everything, really. I draw the line at some country and the majority of rap and hip-hop.
+
I'm all over the place. I have yet to encounter a genre to which I didn't enjoy listening.

*;What are your favorite movies?
+
*;What are some of your favorite movies / television shows?
Far too many to list. =p My all-time favorite, however, would have to be "The Princess Bride".
+
Doctor Who, Les Mis, Avatar (the Last Airbender - the Legend of Korra to a slightly lesser extent), Firefly, Star Wars, Criminal Minds, The Princess Bride, and the majority of cooking shows and wedding shows. x)

*;What's the craziest/stupidest thing you've ever done?
+
*;Aside from The Wheel of Time, what are a few of your favorite books/series?
Fell off a cliff and sprained my ankle. =p
+
Mistborn, The Way of Kings, ASoIaF, Jane Eyre, Scott Pilgrim, Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle, Harry Potter.

*;What job do you have?

I'm a piano teacher and a French tutor.

*;Do you have a pet?

Nope. If/when I move out, however, I want cats. Lots. ^^

*;What languages do you speak?

English, slow French, hack Tagalog, and lots of useless bits of Japanese, German, Chinese, and Spanish.

*;What profession did you want to have when you were a kid?

*;What profession did you want to have when you were a kid?
I wanted to be a novelist. I still do. =)
+
I think I started out wanting to be a novelist, then a journalist, then a concert pianist, and then a Broadway actress. Clearly none of that actually happened. :p

*;Moiraine or Siuan?

Siuan. Moiraine's awesome, but too refined for me; I love Siuan's rough edges. =p

*;Shienar or Saldaea?

Ooh, that's a tough one. I'm going with Shienar.

*;Tea or coffee?

Tea! Especially peppermint and chai.

*;Books or movies?

Hmmm... you got me on that one. It really depends on the situation. =p

*;A short bio about yourself.

I'm a 21-year-old History student/piano teacher/arranger/composer/writer/artist/procrastinator extraordinaire originally from New York, currently residing in Canada. =)

  • Why did you choose Blue?

As the song goes, it's "a little bit of everything, all rolled into one". ;)

  • Beside the obvious "it felt like home" answer, I really deeply identify with being a "Seeker after a Cause" - championing something using whatever talents and resources we're blessed with, whether it's a social cause, a belief, or simply standing up in defense of those we love - and that's a really beautiful thing.
