Alar is an Ogier; she is the mother of Iva and the grandmother of Erith (TGH, Ch. 35). She is the Eldest of the Elders of Stedding Tsofu (TGH, Ch. 36).
Timeline
- Alar tries to dissuade Rand, Ingtar, and the others from using the Ways to follow Padan Fain; when she is unable to do so, she reluctantly grants them permission to enter the Ways (TGH, Ch. 36).
- Alar charges Rand with keeping Loial safe and making sure he returns home to Stedding Shantai when his part in the Pattern is done (TGH, Ch. 36).
- Alar escorts Rand and his party to the Waygate but it is blocked by Machin Shin (TGH, Ch. 36).
