- Bertain Gallenne is the Lord Captain of the Mayener Winged Guards (ACoS, Ch. 18). He is grey-haired and wears his black eyepatch as another man might a plume in his hat (ACoS, Ch. 27). He is quite completive with Arganda and neither wants the other to physically outdo them (CoT, Ch. 8). Gallenne is a suspicious man, he tends to always see the worst possibility first (TPoD, Ch. 7) and suspected a trap when Perrin met with the Seanchan (KoD, Ch. 4).
