Geography

Farashelle was one of the nations of the Free Era. It was located in the mid-western part of the Westlands. To the north were Oman Dahar and Masenashar, with Dal Calain to the northeast, Aldeshar to the east, Shiota to the south, Dhowlan to the southeast, and Darmovan to the northwest. Its northern and eastern borders were marked by the Manetherendrelle and its eastern border by the Mountains of Mist to the south, Garen's Wall marked it from Dhowlan. Eventually, this area of land became what is now western Andor and northern Altara. Baerlon and the Two Rivers are both located in what was Farashelle. During the time of the Compact of the Ten Nations, the entirety of Farashalle was located in Manetheren.

Farashelle's Fall

Sometime before the War of the Second Dragon (it is unsure exactly when), Farashelle and Dhowlan fought many wars against each other (Robert Jordan's Weekly Q&A).

By FY 943, Guaire Amalasan had conquered Farashelle, among other nations.

By FY 963, Farashelle had fallen to Hawkwing.

A song similar to "I'm Down at the Bottom of the Well" was played in the Court of Takedo, somewhere in Farashelle, before Arthur Hawkwing's conquest. Then the song was called "The Last Stand at Mandenhar" (WH, Ch. 19).
