General

Moiraine Damodred is an Aes Sedai of the Blue Ajah, who has been tasked with finding the Dragon Reborn, the reincarnation of the man who caused the Breaking of the World, along with other male channelers. Her Warder is Lan Mandragoran, who accompanies her wherever she goes, protecting her.

Appearance

Moiraine is of middling height with long brown hair that has a thin braid. She has dark blue eyes with a smooth face that appears to be less than middle-aged. The Aes Sedai is most often seen wearing blue traveling clothes, after her Ajah. Her only known jewelry is the Great Serpent ring and a headpiece, both of which have a blue stone within them.

Personality

Moiraine has a calm and collected demeanor that befits her status as Aes Sedai. Even during trying times and battles, she is seen to be unafraid and determined. However, she can sometimes lose her patience, but even that is minimal compared to other people. Master Hightower has said that Moiraine is not a woman used to being denied and she agreed with his sentiment. Moiraine is a woman sure in her convictions and is not afraid to say she doesn't know something. While in public, she is the proper Aes Sedai; in private, she can be vulnerable when she so chooses.

Twenty years ago, Moiraine and Lan set out from the White Tower to search for the Dragon Reborn. At some point before she departs the White Tower, she begins a relationship with Siuan Sanche, who later becomes the Amyrlin Seat.

Season 1

Moiraine arrives at the Two Rivers and meets Rand al'Thor, Egwene al'Vere, Mat Cauthon, Perrin Aybara, and Nynaeve al'Meara. Over the next couple days, Moiraine observes the five of them, certain that one is the Dragon Reborn. She gives aid and defends the village when Trollocs and a Fade attack.

After convincing Rand, Egwene, Mat, Perrin, and Nynaeve to leave the Two Rivers, they along with Moiraine and Lan, make for Tar Valon. Over the course of the journey, she gradually grows ill from the wound she got during the Battle of Emond's Field. Because Moiraine is not fit to travel, Lan decides to hide inside the dead city of Shadar Logoth so that they can escape the Shadowspawn that follow them. During the night that they spend in that city, the group is attacked by a black shadow they cannot fight, which forces them to separate. Lan prioritizes saving Moiraine and flees the city only with her.

Following the separation of the group, Lan searches for Aes Sedai to heal Moiraine. Eventually, Nynaeve tracks them and finds the pair. Lan asks for the Wisdom's aid in healing Moiraine.

Moiraine finds her way to a group of Aes Sedai and their Warders. She is healed by Kerene Nagashi. Afterwards, she helps her sisters maintain a shield on Logain Ablar, a False Dragon.

With Lan, Nynaeve, and the rest of the Aes Sedai party, Moiraine arrives in Tar Valon. Throughout, she searches for and finds Rand, Mat, Egwene, and Perrin in the city.

Moiraine answers for her actions with helping to gentle Logain before the Amyrlin Seat.

Moiraine, Lan, and the rest of the Emond's Fielders except for Mat, travel through the Ways. When they notice they are being pursued by Trollocs, they travel to Fal Dara.

Moiraine and Rand journey to the Eye of the World in the Blight.
