The Amyrlin Seat

Siuan Sanche, the Amyrlin Seat, is very impatient to hear from Moiraine. Even though it is not proper she tell Leane, Keeper of the Chronicles to let Verin in immediately when she tells the Amyrlin Verin wants to see her. Siuan tells Leane she doesn't have to be present when the Amyrlin talk to Verin. Again this is very unusual.

Verin is lead in by the Keeper. She hardly knows where to start but she quickly tells Rand has proclaimed himself the Dragon Reborn. Siuan expected as much. Both other 'Dragons' loose in the world had been captured under identical circumstances. The pattern has no room for False Dragons now that the real one has been proclaimed.

Verin hands Siuan the Horn of Valere and tells her not Rand but Mat sounded it. Mat is now linked to the horn so it is useless for Rand until Mat dies. She also tells the Amyrlin Mat is in the Tower dying of his link to the dagger from Shadar Logoth. Siuan decided to put the Horn somewhere safe for the time being. Verin also bring up the Seanchan but Siuan thinks there are more important matters to deal with now.

Then the attention turns to the three runaways. Verin wants to know what Siuan intends to do with them. From Siuan's reply it becomes clear they will not enjoy their punishment. But first Siuan wants a full report from Verin on their actions.
