Marcus Rutherford as Perrin Aybara

Salutations dear reader, and thank you for returning to my next installment of Where They Came From. We’re focusing on Perrin Aybara today, who’s being portrayed by Marcus Rutherford. Where the previous actors we have spotlighted had a few bit parts here and there up until being cast for Wheel of Time, Marcus has a little more experience with television and screen, albeit more condensed to recent years. Follow along as I cover a couple of the main entries.

Filmography

Marcus Rutherford is native to Nottingham, England, and began his acting career in 2017 with the Short: Country Lines. His big jump was the leading role in 2018’s Obey. He played Leon, a nineteen-year old man who came back home to take care of his alcoholic mother. To make end’s meet while struggling with a lack of education and training he turned to boxing. The film escalated in the latter half to the point where Leon had to choose between a budding romance, or becoming an activist along with his friends to bring change to his home neighborhood.

In 2019 he returned to reprise his role in a full length version of County Lines before moving to a television spot in 2020. He played the role of Dezzy in season two of Bulletproof. I believe this small bit part was to help him get used to acting for a television series for his upcoming Wheel of Time role. As always there are other Shorts and Films he’s been in, and I encourage you to take a look.

How did you ever come to like a common blacksmith?

I definitely had an easier time with research into Marcus’ previous roles because they seem to be more mainstream. That means easier access for you to view his work, dear reader. I am eager to see what he brings to the table for his role as Perrin.

If you wish to look further in depth on the information presented here, the link to Marcus’ IMDB Page. All information provided in this article came from here.

Once again I would like to thank each of you for taking the time to read my articles. I believe it’s high time for a more feminine touch to grace the pages, so next time we’ll be covering Padan Fain! Just kidding, I’m going to write about the innkeeper’s daughter, [Egwene al'Vere].
