This year Tarvalon.net enjoyed its 2nd year in existence, and in true Tower fashion celebrated with a glorious party. On April 25th 2003 the 2nd annual White Tower anniversary party was held in Fairview, Tennessee. It was a weekend of food, fun, and good friends as nearly 70 members of Tarvalon.net showed up to party down White Tower style. This event was hosted by Drasil Sedai of the Yellow Ajah, Anastazia Sedai of the Green Ajah, Geldwyn Sedai of the Grey Ajah, and Colin Gaidin of Val’Cueran.

This was a party that celebrated what it truly means to be a part of Tarvalon.net. Members got together and not only partied hard, but also recognized the hard work and dedication it takes to make this site not only the greatest Wheel of Time fan site. Awards were handed out in several categories for concepts ranging from website design to most inspirational member.

The events were numerous and varied. Friday night saw a Sa'sara demonstration followed by our semi-annual slave auction fundraiser and brought in approximately $400 to the Tower coffers. Saturday was marked by classes in the tiganza, archery and in swordsmanship. Not surprisingly, several Aes Sedai were seen contentedly watching their Warders in the Practice Yard. A select group of women went out into the woods on Saturday to perform the first real life first-sister ceremony. The Tower Council met for a few hours in the afternoon to discuss pertinent Tower issues, and then all proceeded to the most anticipated event of the weekend, the Anniversary Party.

Festivities began with an excellent dinner and then proceeded onto the toasting round. In a moment of spontaneity sparked by Goldschläger, fourteen people were raised in person. Seven Novices were elevated to the rank of Accepted, one Recruit raised to Soldier, five Soldiers to Gaidin and one Accepted to Aes Sedai. We continued with excellent musical entertainment by the Saucy Sirens, held a difficult trivia contest, and rounded the evening out next to a bonfire.

In a tradition of rewarding excellence nine awards were handed out for a variety of categories. The Yellow Ajah took the Best Ajah Headquarters award. Best Accepted project was awarded to Raevyn Sedai of the Blue Ajah. Best Soldier Project was captured by al’Cary of Dai M’Hael. Best Aes Sedai Mentor was awarded to Masayna Sedai of the Red Ajah. Best Gaidin Mentor went to Ban Gaidin of San D’Ma Shadar. Lyssandra Sedai of the White Ajah was awarded most helpful member. Katarianna Sedai of the Green Ajah took friendliest member. Val’Cueran took home the award for best Company Headquarters. And last but most certainly not by any means least most inspirational member was given to Eleyan Sedai.

Tarvalon.net fosters all sorts of relationships among its members from First-Siblings to bondings, and even…marriage. This occasion held a number of firsts as the first live bonding ceremony occurred between Sataere Gaidin of Dai M’Hael and Rissa Sedai of the Blue Ajah. In a humorous ceremony the two were bonded before all present. On a more serious and touching note Kragonis Alraya Trinor, Recruit of the White Tower, proposed to Eilidh Arimath Sedai of the White Ajah. The two will be married at our Fall Ball in Las Vegas this coming fall in what is sure to be a glorious affair.

As is clearly seen this party was a grand success. Members from all over the United States and even Europe gathered to celebrate the greatness of Tarvalon.net. They enjoyed exquisite food, excellent beverages, fun, and most importantly the company of one another. The enthusiasm demonstrated by those in attendance will surely lead to greater turnout in the future. Tarvalon.net looks forward to many more events as we continue to grow.

Mix together a host of TN natives, the most Tower people ever together before (60) and an empty campsite in the forest and you get one heck of a good time. There was the traditional slave auction and Goldschläger toasts, a multitude of raisings, awards announced and a performance by the Saucy Sirens as well as a First-Sister bonding, archery and sword fighting, and good friends made. A bonfire and cold weather created the atmosphere of a weekend that I will never forget.

I wasn't quite sure what I was getting myself into. I had meet several people from the tower before but never for long and not quite so many at one time. We were one of the first to arrive and at first we just sat around and talked, but then suddenly this wave of people came in and I was completely lost for the rest of the weekend. It felt like the whole thing was over in about an hour and I didn't get to see anyone nearly as long as I wished and I'm not sure I slept more than an hour the whole time. Definitely an experience like none other.

This was my very first Tower party and boy was it an experience!!

I almost couldn't attend but I was able to at the last minute with two of my cousins (Marylu and Evelyn). When we arrived to the campsite we were greeted with cheers! I was so delightedly surprised! We parked and when I got out of the car I just remember all these people coming up to me and finding out that I was Lyoness and gave me this HUGE group hug! It was all so very welcoming! ^_^

Since so much time has passed I can't remember too many specifics in chronological order....but I remember that I had a blast! As a good novice I did my duty and washed the dishes (as you can see in that second piccy). Every night found me round the campfire till the wee hours of the morning.

It was this party where I met my future husband, Jakeb, although I had no idea at the time, and where I met my near-sis (now First Sister) Faeril. At this party both Faeril and I were raised to Accepted of the Green and Blue Ajahs respectively, and where we created the concept of the Teal Ajah!!

I got very up close and personal with some Crown and Coke and along with Raylin and Faeril the Drunken Sistas were born!! I also handed out my lollipops to all and got to meet so many lovely people.

On Sunday we all went to IHOP with our Nekkid Chief, Wil Gaidin, and afterwards a few of us went to the house of our TN hosts and stayed the night.........what happens in TN...STAYS in TN!

'nuff said.

All in all... it was an awesome party! Most unforgettable.

=)
