Liandrin despises him, partly because he thought his oaths to the Dark One could be "conveniently forgotten." Temaile punishes him possibly for that reason or just because she likes spreading pain. Now he is so wrecked that he weeps when he is touched or when anyone speaks above a whisper. He even lies beneath his blanket, shivering despite the heat. His wife asks Liandrin if the Aes Sedai will not help him, now that he has learned his lesson, but Liandrin only tells her that she will ask Chesmal to see what she can do. In fact, Chesmal told her before that Jorin will slowly recover over the next few months if he gets the rest he needs (TFoH, Ch. 18).
