Bassane is one of the Warders of Merise of the Green Ajah (WH, Ch. 23). He is short, wide and very tan; he is from Cairhien (CoT, Ch. 23).

Bassane accompanies Merise when she goes to Far Madding with Cadsuane (WH, Ch. 23).

Bassane accompanies Rand and Merise to Shadar Logoth in the attempt to cleanse saidin; he scouts the forest along with Lan and Nethan (WH, Ch. 35).

Bassane goes with Rand, Cadsuane and Merise to Lord Algarin's manor in Tear to hide; he watches Jahar and Lan practice swords (CoT, Ch. 23).

Bassane and Merise are with Rand when he is ambushed by Semirhage (KoD, Ch. 23).

Bassane accompanies Merise when she visits the Salidar Aes Sedai to bring them Rand's offer of letting them bond Asha'man (KoD, Ch. 27).
