General

Kiruna Nachiman is an Aes Sedai of the Green Ajah (TFoH, Ch. 27). She is connected to the Salidar Aes Sedai, and has four Warders (TFoH, Ch. 26).

She is Arafellin, with large, dark eyes. She is elegant, statuesque, and arrogantly beautiful. (TFoH, Ch. 26; LoC, Ch. 54)

Timeline

  • Kiruna and Bera head towards Caemlyn and join the Salidar Aes Sedai embassy (LoC, Ch. 47).

Relationships

Kiruna is the favorite sister of King Paitar of Arafel (TPoD, Prologue)

While Min is posing as Elmindreda at the White Tower, Kiruna is friendly towards her. When Min arrives in Salidar, she doesn't recognize Min, or pay any attention to her (TFoH, Ch. 26).

Kiruna and Bera seem to get along fairly well. They seem to work well together in leading their group of Aes Sedai, and often seem to pass the leadership back and forth among themselves. (ACoS, Ch. 2).

After a while, Kiruna seems to defer completely to Sorilea, to the point of being pleased upon receiving praise...and of course being surprised about being pleased (TPoD, Ch. 12).

Miscellaneous

  • In LoC, Ch. 49, Min has a viewing that concerns Bera and Kiruna. "A brownish yellow and deep purple aura. It's the aura. Blood, death, the One Power, those two women and you, all in the same place at the same time."

Quotes

"Alanna should have brought him to heel long since. I would have. When she arrives, I will tell her so, and the Dark One take convention." (To Bera; Lord of Chaos, Chapter 49)

"Kiruna ran a dark, contemptuous gaze over Perrin's party. 'You mean to stop Aes Sedai with this, young man? Verin did not say you were a fool.'" (To Perrin; Lord of Chaos, Chapter 55)

"You forget who we are. They may have mistreated you, but we -" (To Rand; Lord of Chaos, Chapter 55)

"That anyone could send such a letter to Aes Sedai disgusts me." (To Alanna, Bera, Berenicia, Demira, Faeldrin, Kairen, Masuri, Merana, Rafela, Seonid, Valinde and Verin; Lord of Chaos, Chapter 49)

"They must wait. Light and honor, I do not know how many sisters will be required to handle so many. Al'Thor is the important matter, and one we can handle." (To Alanna, Bera, Berenicia, Demira, Faeldrin, Kairen, Masuri, Merana, Rafela, Seonid, Valinde and Verin; Lord of Chaos, Chapter 49)

"If you had to bond a man without asking him, why, by the Light most holy, have you not used the bond to bend him to your will? Compared to the other, that is only slapping his wrist. (To Alanna; Lord of Chaos, Chapter 49)

"With so many crows and ravens in one place, there are certainly hundreds, perhaps thousands, ready to report what they've seen to a Myrddraal. In the borderlands, we kill them on sight. You have men, and they have bows." (To Perrin; A Crown of Swords, Chapter 2)

"I will tell you something, though the meanest intelligence should be able to reason it out. By the Three Oaths, no sister may use the One Power as a weapon except against Shadowspawn or in defense of her life, or that of her Warders or another sister. We could have stood where you would have had us and watched until Tarmon Gai'don without even being able to do anything effective. Not until we were in danger ourselves. I do not like havintg to explain my actions, farmboy. Do not make me do it again. Do you understand?" (To Perrin; A Crown of Swords, Chapter 2)
