Administration History

2004
- July
The Department of Administration, Department of Information Technology, Department of Research and Communications and Department of Membership Services were created. Administration and Membership were run by the Keeper and Master at Arms, all other departments gained their own department head
2006
- August
The departments of Research and Communication were created from the Department of Research and Communications. The roles of the Department of Membership and Department of Administration were formalised and each gained their own director. The role of Master at Arms was disbanded and the role of Keeper expanded to oversee all Departments
2007
- March
The Department of Real Life Services and Department of Community Development were created out of the Department of Membership Services.
- November
The Department of Moderators was created.
2008
- November
The Department of Real Life Services disbanded and its functions absorbed by the Department of Administration.
2009
- May
The Department of Philanthropy and Department of Events and Conferences moved out of the Department of Administration.
- October
The position of Shatayan created as chief financial officer and finance spun out of the Department of Administration.
- November
The TarValon Times moved from the Department of Communication to the Department of Community Development, the rest of the functions of the Department merged with the Department of Research to reform the Department of Research and Communications.
2010
- April
The Department of Marketing was created. The role of Tower Voice was moved to this department from the Department of Research and Communications and the retail section was moved here from the Department of Philanthropy. The Department of Research was once again a stand alone department
2011
- April
The function of the Department of Philanthropy changed to focus on activities by and for members, recognizing the good works done by members, and helping members in need, it was renamed to the Department of Community Outreach. The Online Events Team was moved to this Department and renamed Outreach Activities Team. The Department of Community Development was disbanded. The TVT moved to Department of Marketing and the Guilds were closed and similar discussion forums were opened under the Department of Moderators. The Department of Research was renamed the Department of Research and Records to reflect its duties of recording TarValon.Net history.
