Danelle

General

Danelle is an Aes Sedai of the Brown Ajah who was involved in Elaida's overthrow of Siuan Sanche and was one of the group that came to arrest her after the Hall had removed her as Amyrlin (TSR, Ch. 47). She is initially on Elaida's inner council after this (TFoH, Prologue). She continues to have some importance and later writes a report to Elaida about the attitudes of various rulers towards her (LoC, Ch. 7). She does not remain in this position long however, and is soon pushed aside, though Alviarin doubts she even realises (ACoS, Prologue). She is blue eyed (TSR, Ch. 47) and dreamy, with few friends even in her own Ajah (ACoS, Prologue).

Timeline

• Siuan mentions that Danelle allowed Master Jovarin to hire more than necessary number of workmen (TSR, Ch. 47).
• Danelle is one of Elaida's party that brings Siuan down (TSR, Ch. 47).
• Siuan realises that Danelle brought two hundred soldiers into the White Tower disguised as masons (TSR, Ch. 47).
• Danelle meets as a part of Elaida's Council. She reports on skirmishes in Shienar and Pedron Niall conducting secret negotiations with Altara and Murandy (TFoH, Prologue).
• While in Tel'aran'rhiod, the rebel Aes Sedai find a report from Danelle that Mattin Stepaneos accepts the offer but Roedran, Alliandre and Tylin are still thinking about it (LoC, Ch. 7).
• Danelle is one of the people Alviarin passes between Elaida's quarters and her own after she is demoted as a keeper by Elaida (ACoS, Prologue).

Theories

There are theories that Danelle is Mesaana in disguise. She is dreamy and friendless, which would have made the real Danelle easy to "replace". Danelle has blue eyes like Mesaana. And she played a big role in the coup against Siuan. Danelle is Brown Ajah and Mesaana's tendency to wear brownish colors (LoC, Prologue) implies she is impersonating a Brown sister since Aes Sedai tend to dress in their Ajah colors (although this is not absolute). Of course this could be just personal preference.
