Head Moderator

Overview

The Head Moderator is responsible for managing Forum Moderators, processing incoming moderation reports, making decisions on these reports, and convening Membership Review Committees as needed.

Chain of Command

The Head Moderator reports directly to the Cordamora.

Forum Moderators report to the Head Moderator.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Regularly check forums to ensure everything is running smoothly.
• Working with the Forum Moderators and Discord Ops to resolve conflicts or issues in a timely manner.
• Handle hiring, replacing, and training new Forum Moderators and Discord Ops in conjunction with the Cordamora.
• Ensure adequate Chat Ops presence throughout the Tower Discord and Forum Moderator presence throughout forums.
• Partnering with the Director of Membership when necessary to respond to submitted reports and membership needs.
• Address complaints made about actions of Forum Moderators and Discord Ops.
• Serve as voting member for thread lock actions.
• Convene and facilitate Membership Review Committees on an ad hoc basis.
• Keep records of all issues and communicate them regularly with the Cordamora.

Expectations

• Be exceptionally familiar with Membership Manual, Code of Conduct, and Accountability Guide.
• Be able to moderate and make decisions based solely on Membership Manual, Code of Conduct, and Accountability Guide.
• Employ tact and diplomacy with all members.

Time Commitment

• Be willing and able to spend 10 - 15 hours a week performing above duties and responsibilities. This is an estimate. Some weeks are less, some are more, depending on what is happening in the forums.
• Flexibility to react and step in on hot issues as they arise.

Qualifications

• Be a Tower Sworn with a minimum of one-year in good standing.
• Must possess tact and discretion.
• Experience with Xenforo 2 Moderation tools, or willingness to learn.
• Moderation and/or Discord Operator experience, or willingness to learn.
• Must be willing to turn on 2-factor authentication on your forum account for the duration of your service.
• Must be willing to remove all users from "ignore" on the forums and in Discord and keep them that way for the duration of your service.
