Ryma Galfrey was an Aes Sedai of the Yellow Ajah. However, she was captured by the Seanchan and made damane. The sul'dam now call her Pura (TGH, Ch. 42).

Ryma tried to resist the sul'dam's training when she was first made damane (TGH, Ch. 42). However, she succumbed to the training and became a good damane (WH, Ch. 28).

Ryma has dark hair and pale blue eyes. She is short (WH, Ch. 28). She is slim (NS, Ch. 14).


  • 998 NE: Ryma is captured and made damane when Falme falls to the Seanchan (TGH, Ch. 42).
  • 1000 NE: Ryma is one of the damane who travels with Suroth when she shows Tylin her lands in Altara (WH, Ch. 28).


  • Before she was made damane, Ryma was haughty and had a regal bearing (NS, Ch. 14).
  • Ryma's damane training was particularly harsh (TSR, Ch. 1).
  • Ryma was punished for attempting to touch the High Lady Suroth (TSR, Ch. 1).

"Please. Pura has learned to obey. Pura speaks only the truth. Please do not punish Pura." Ryma to Suroth (The Shadow Rising, Chapter 1).

"He had not really believed Teslyn when she said the woman had become a true damane, but the greying sul'dam leaned low in her saddle to say something to the woman who had been Ryma Galfrey, and whatever it was the sul'dam murmured, Pura laughed and clapped her hands in delight."
