Adeleas Namelle: "She was almost a mirror image of her sister." (TGH, Ch. 22) This Aes Sedai had retired to Tifan's Well with her sister and her Warder, where she had been occupying herself with the creation of a history of the world since the Breaking, until she and her twin sister - Vandene Namelle of the Green Ajah- were sought out by Moraine. After the split of the White Tower, she sided with Salidar. We encounter her again during the events of Lord of Chaos, where she and Vandene accompany Elayne, Nynaeve and Mat to Ebou Dar, apparently on the search for run-aways from the White Tower. This path eventually leads to her death at the hands of Darkfriends, when she is drugged and murdered by Careane Fransi while guarding known Black Sister Ispan Shefar.

Aiden: "...a round woman even darker than Zemaille..." (CoT, Ch. 21) Aiden is one of the Sea Folk, relatively weak in the Power and works in the Tower Library. After the split, she sides with the White Tower and is one of two Aes Sedai Alviarin passes on her return from Tremalking during the events of Crossroads of Twilight.

Akarrin: "...a slender Brown with quick eyes to catch who was not following her..." (NS, Ch. 3) She one of the Aes Sedai sent by the Hall in Salidar to investigate Shadar Logoth during the events of Crossroads of Twilight, since, though relatively weak in the One Power, she is an expert at reading residues.

Amylia: "Amylia, the bosomy, pale-haired Aes Sedai Zaida had brought back with her from Caemlyn. Ageless face seeming permanently surprised, her startling blue eyes very wide, the Aes Sedai was breathing heavily for some reason." (KoD, Ch. 22) This Aes Sedai was convinced by Zaida to teach the Windfinders. It is not clear whether she sides with Salidar or the White Tower.

Bennae Nalsad: "Bennae's eyes were blue and sharp, her dark hair, caught in a silver net, liberally streaked with gray. Ink stains marked two of her fingers, and another smudged the side of her nose." (KoD, Ch. 24) Originally from Shienar, this Aes Sedai remained in the Whiter Tower after the split and is one of Egwene's teachers upon her return, instructing her in History.

Balladare Arandaille - Amyrlin Seat 115-142 NE, raised from the Brown Ajah

Dalevien: "Dalevien, a stocky woman with gray streaking her short dark hair, never looked up from her comparison of the text of two books, one held open on either knee." (KoD, Ch. 24) Having sided with the White Tower after the split, she and Felaana are the Aes Sedai guarding Leane's cell upon Egwene's first visit during the events of Knife of Dreams.

Danelle: " Danelle was simply too dreamy, even for a Brown." (TSR, Ch. 47) This young Aes Sedai was instrumental in the downfall of Siuan Sanche, having smuggled two hundred soldiers into the White Tower disguised as masons. She remains in the Tower and acts as part of Elaida's council. She seems to be friendless, though there is a possibility that she might be a part of the Black Ajah.

Demira Eriff: "That coppery skin made the gracefully beautiful woman in dark bronze Demira Eriff, the Brown sister who Min had reported had taken to her bed." (LoC, Ch. 49) An Aes Sedai from Arad Doman, her Cairhienin Warder is Stevan, and she is a part of the Salidar delegation to Rand. On her way from a meeting with the absent Milam Hardener in Caemlyn, she is attacked by short black-haired "Aiel" who warn her to stay away from the Dragon Reborn. She is interested in the seals of the Dark One's prison and wants to research them in detail.

Doniella Alievin - Amyrlin Seat 306-332 NE, raised from the Brown

Doraise Mesianos: During the events of A Crown of Swords, she was one of the Aes Sedai rewarded by Elaida at Alviarin's urging, creating strife between the Ajahs.

Eldrith Jhondar: "Round-faced Eldrith Jhondar seated at a lapis-inlaid table beneath a hanging on one white-plastered wall, was making careful notes from a tattered manuscript; sometimes she absently cleaned the nib of her pen on the sleeve of her dark wool dress." (TSR, Ch. 38) In addition to being a member of the Brown, she is one of the thirteen Aes Sedai who exposed themselves as members of the Black Ajah by stealing ter'angreal and fleeing the White Tower during the events of The Dragon Reborn. Her Warder Kennit, not a Darkfriend, is determined to track down and kill her. She has a fondness for killing her fellow Black sister Marillin's cats. She is currently being held captive by Elayne's Guardswomen in the Royal Palace dungeons in Caemlyn.

Elin Warrel: "Elin Warrel was so newly raised to the shawl, she still should have been bobbing curtsies on instinct." (CoT, Prologue) An Andoran who is three years older than Moraine, she is the Novice on duty in the Anteroom at Gitara Moroso's death during the events of New Spring. She is, according to Elayne, forty years old but looks twenty and is described as slender, skinny and of average height.

Escaralde: "It amazed Egwene how Escaralde could do that. Loom, that was. She stood inches shorter even than Nisao. It must have been sheer force of will." (CoT, Ch. 19) Thought to be around seventy years old, she originally hails from Far Madding and is the third-oldest Sitter in Salidar after Romanda and Moria. She stands for Egwene as Amyrlin Seat and voted for and proposed an Alliance with the Black Tower.

Felaana Bevaine: "Felaana Bevaine, a slim yellow-haired Brown with a raspy voice, had been the first to corner Moraine when she arrived." (NS, Ch. 17) In addition to being one of the Aes Sedai who capture Egwene at Southharbour during the events of Knife of Dreams, she mistakes Moraine for a Wilder in Canluum during New Spring and is exceedingly peeved at her refusal to accompany her to the White Tower for training.

Gabrelle: "...Gabrelle, a dusky Brown with sooty green eyes, was talking with him quite companionably, perhaps even coquettishly." (KoD, Ch. 27) Having sided with the White Tower after the split, she is one of the fifty Aes Sedai who were sent by Elaida to take over the Black Towe,r which seems to indicate that she is definitely not a member of the Black Ajah. Like Toveine, she was forcibly bonded by Logain Ablar, though she seems to be enjoying said position rather more than Toveine.

Igaine Luin - Amyrlin Seat 476-520 NE, raised from the Brown

Janya Frende: "Unlike most Brown sisters, often absentminded beyond their books and studies, Janya Sedai was quite neat, every short dark hair tidy around the ageless face that marked an Aes Sedai that had worked long with the Power."(LoC, Prologue) She is a Sitter for the Brown Ajah at Salidar, stands for Egwene as Amyrlin and voted affirmatively on both a war with the White Tower and an alliance with the Black Tower.

Jesse Bilal:"Jesse Bilal, who stood very high amongst the Browns if not at the very top." (WH, Prologue) She heads the ruling Council of the Brown Ajah in the White Tower.

Juilaine Madome: "Juilaine Madome, a tall, attractive woman with short-cut black hair who had held a chair for the Brown less than a year, brushed past her without so much as a murmur of apology and went off with those mannish strides of hers."(TPoD, Ch. 26) Elected as a Sitter of the Hall in the White Tower after the split, she has been Aes Sedai for around seventy years.

Kumira: "She was Brown herself, though little given to the usual failings. A handsome woman with short-cut hair, she was hardheaded and practical, a keen observer, and never lost herself so deeply in thought that she lost sight of the world around her as well." (KoD, Ch. 12) A Shienaran and weak in the One Power, she has aligned herself with Cadsuane. During the events of Winter's Heart, she links with Verin and Shalon and is killed in a fight with Graendal at Shadar Logoth.

Kirin Nelway: Amyrlin Seat 922-950NE, raised from the Brown.

Marillin Gemalphin: "A skinny woman with lifeless pale brown hair, the Brown sister did not look Aes Sedai. Her narrow face and wide nose would have fitted better above Falion's livery than it did above her fine blue wool, and that was suitable only for a middling merchant." (WH, Ch. 35) She is originally from Andor. In addition to being a member of the Brown, she is one of the thirteen Aes Sedai who exposed themselves as members of the Black Ajah by stealing ter'angreal and fleeing the White Tower during the events of The Dragon Reborn. She likes cats. She is currently being held captive by Elayne's Guardswomen in the Royal Palace dungeons in Caemlyn.

Marris Thornhill: A plump Andoran, she is Black Ajah and the other two of her heart are Atuan Larisett and Karale Sanghir. She has no Warder and after the split sides with the White Tower.

Masuri Sakawa: "Masuri, slim and merry-eyed in brown embroidered with flowering vines around the hem." (LoC, Ch. 43) Originally from Arafel and bonded to Rovair Kirklin, she is part of the Salidar delegation to Rand. She is an expert on Darkhounds and after having been forced to swear fealty to Rand, joins forces with Perrin and Faile during the events of Lord of Chaos. She participated in the battle at Malden during the events of Knife of Dreams helping defeat the Shaido.

Morvrin: "Round-faced Morvrin, for once not appearing at all absent-minded or sleepy-eyed despite the creases in her brown wool skirt..." (KoD, Ch. 1) Afer the split with the White Tower, she is established as a Sitter and part of the ruling council in Salidar. She is one of the Sisters who swore fealty to Egwene during The Path of Daggers and seems continually astonished by it. Her Warder is Jori.

Negaine: Having sided with the White Tower after the split, she and Felaana discover the disguised Beonin wandering the halls of the White Tower during the events of Knife of Dreams and take her to see Elaida.

Nesune Bihara: "Nesune, a slender Kandori with birdlike eyes, could tell when someone's attention drifted even with her back turned; she had taught several classes Egwene had been in." (LoC, Ch25) Having sided with the White Tower after the split, Nesune is one of the Aes Sedai in Elaida's delegation to Rand, a mission she would have been happy to volunteer for as she is planning to write a paper on the Dragon Reborn. She has a Warder who's name is unknown and has sworn allegiance to Rand.

Nyein: Having sided with the White Tower after the split, Nyein is one of the few Sea Folk Aes Sedai. In addition to being relatively weak in the Power, she works in the Tower Library where she spends most of her time in the upper levels with Zemaille and Aiden.

Phaedrine: "Phaedrine's dark wool bore a number of creases, not to mention several stains, her woollen cloak was unadorned and needed darning, and she frowned much too often, as she was doing right then. She might have been pretty without that." (KoD, Ch. 2) After the split, she sides with Salidar. She was one of many Aes Sedai who taught Egwene's novice classes and is so weak in the power that she and Shemari have to work together to be able to create a gateway. During the events of Knife of Dreams, she and Ashmanaille are investigating the murders of Anaiya and Kairen.

Saerin Asnobar: "Saerin was Altaran, slight touches of white at her dark temples emphasizing a thin age-faded scar across one olive cheek, and a Warder could match her for scowling." (TPoD, Ch. 26) A Sitter for the Brown Ajah for forty years, Saerin remained in the White Tower after the split. She was an Innkeepers daughter, who was trained by the Daughters of Silence before being called to the Tower. She is one of the Aes Sedai plotting to reveal the Black Ajah in the White Tower, and having sworn on the Oathrod during the events of The Path of Daggers, is known to definitely not be a Darkfriend.

Sareitha Tomares: "After barely three years as Aes Sedai, Sareitha's dark square face had not yet achieved agelessness, and she looked a prosperous merchant in her fine bronze-coloured woollens with a large silver-and-sapphires brooch holding her cloak." (WH, Ch. 7) Originally from Tear, it was revealed during the events of A Crown of Swords that Sareitha has only been Aes Sedai for about two years. She is said to look a little older than Nynaeve, and is described as dark and stocky with brown hair and a square face. She was part of the group of Salidar Aes Sedai who worked on the Bowl of Winds and accompanied Elayne to Andor during The Path of Daggers. Bonded to Ned Yarman, she and Vandene were murdered by Chesmal Emry during the events of Knife of Dreams.

Serafelle: "Serafelle is not really interested in anything that someone hasn't already set down in a book, preferably as long ago as possible." (TGH, Ch. 7) She studied the Dark Prophecy in Fal Dara with Verin, but is according to her too caught up in her studies to take action. She was also one of the Aes Sedai who healed Mat after his fateful encounter with the ruby dagger.

Shemari: "Shemari, a vigorous square-faced woman who looked more like a Green than a librarian, was always beyond proper in her behaviour." (CoT, Ch. 17) Known to have taught Egwene in novice classes at the White Tower, she joins the Salidar Aes Sedai after the split. Not much is known about her other than the fact that she is barely strong enough to form a gateway while linked with Phaedrine.

Shevan: "As tall as most men, and bonily thin with it, the Brown Sitter had an angular face and a long chin, not improved by a cap of curls." (TPoD, Ch. 25) Having remained in the White tower after the split, Shevan is elected as one of the Sitters for the Brown Ajah. She supports the notion of negotiating with the Salidar Aes Sedai.

Takima: "Takima was a quiet bird-like woman, but she could be forceful when she wished, and with her fists on her hips she looked a sparrow in a temper, feathers all puffed out to make her seem larger." (CoT, Ch. 19) Having been a Sitter for the Brown Ajah in the White Tower for nine years, she takes up the same position in Salidar after the split. She has taught Egwene, Elayne and Nynaeve in Accepted classes and is one of the Sitters who elected Egwene as Amyrlin Seat. Despite having aligned herself with Lelaine, she does not support the notion of war with the White Tower and hopes to negotiate with Elaida instead. In addition, she is violently opposed to the idea of cooperating with the Black Tower.

Theodrin Dabei: "Theodrin was a willowy, apple-cheeked Brown, a copper-skinned Domani with a stubborn set to her mouth." (CoT, Ch. 30) A Domani Wilder raised to Aes Sedai in Salidar, she is older and stronger than Faolain and after the split joined the Aes Sedai in Salidar despite still being an Accepted. She was tasked with working on Nynaeve's block, having been unable to channel herself without a man in the room when she first joined the Tower. Raised to full Aes Sedai during the events of Lord of Chaos, she swore fealty to Egwene and appears to currently be occupied in spying on Romanda for her.

Valera Gorovni: One of the Searchers sent out by Tamra Ospenya during the events of New Spring, Valera was murdered by the Black Ajah.

Verin Mathwin: "Verin Mathwin, plump and square-faced, grey streaking her brown hair despite her smooth-cheeked Aes Sedai agelessness, was Brown Ajah, and like all Browns seemingly lost half the time in the search for knowledge, whether old and lost or new." (TSR, Ch. 31) Seemingly harmless and grandmotherly, Verin is bonded to Tomas - her previous, long deceased Warder was Balinor. She was exiled from her home, Far Madding, for unknown reasons and has been working on a secret project for around seventy years, in support of which she is not above using the forbidden Compulsion. She has travelled far and wide, in seeming support of the Dragon Reborn, be it Emond's Field to stave off the Trolloc attacks, Cairhien with Rand or aiding the Salidar Aes Sedai, with whom she sided after the split. She was prepared to poison Cadsuane for unknown reasons and only held off once establishing that the other woman intended to help Rand. She and her Warder are currently in parts unknown, having left a note for only Rand to see.

Zemaille: "Tall and very lean, Zemaille always held that outer mask of reserve and distance, but Alviarin suspected she was less shy than she pretended, and less pleasant." (CoT, Ch. 21) One of the Sea Folk Aes Sedai, she is described as being tall, thin and very dark, with a lean face and straight black hair to her waist and tattoos on her hands. She works in the Tower Library and tends to stay in the upper levels where the secret records are kept. Sober and thoughtful, she is relatively weak in the Power, and is one of the two Aes Sedai Alviarin passes on her way back from Tremalking.

Zeranda Tyrim - Amyrlin Seat 797-817 NE, raised from the Brown.
