Overview

The Social Marketing Team (SMT) is responsible for marketing TarValon.Net to non-members (i.e. external marketing) through social media and other venues. The SMT will work with other staff on the site as needed, including the Graphics Development Team, the Department of Events and Conferences, and the Department of Community Outreach.

Rotation: Non rotating role

Merit Eligibility: Staff Merit

Chain of Command

The Social Marketing Team reports to the Social Marketing Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Socializing and promoting TarValon.Net Inc at social events, such as DragonCon, JordanCon, etc. (This may include organizing a fansite table.)
  • Engaging Individuals through social media such as Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, Tumblr.. (Does not include subjects attributed to the Tower Voice duties.)

Not all duties are listed, but will be developed through the Team.

Expectations

  • Must have been a member of TarValon.Net for at least 6 months. Open to any rank; citizen or above.
  • Have an active desire to participate and attend social events, both Tower sanctioned and other (i.e.. DragonCon, JordanCon).
  • Must be able to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Time Requirements

  • Activity level: 5+ hours on the boards per week, ideally 5-10 hours. Please indicate your time availability in your application.

History

The position was announced April 30, 2015 and the first new staff appointed June 1, 2015.
