- Why did you choose Green?
I actually chose Green twice. I aspired once in August of 2022 and then unaspired in February of 2023. Then, I aspired in October of 2023 and was raised in March of 2024. I chose Green both times for the same reason; I saw values that aligned with mine and a group of brothers and sisters that I wanted to emulate. I know that the people we spend our time with shape our lives and ourselves, and I knew that whatever Ajah I picked would influence the person that I become over time. It was important to me that I made this choice deliberately and carefully. I left Green because I was concerned that I wasn’t a good fit for the community. I spent some time away from the Tower in the interim between unaspiring and re-aspiring dedicated to personal growth and development. By the time I returned in July of 2023, I knew that I was finally ready to select an Ajah. I explored carefully, visited a few more groups that I skipped the first time around, and stuck the landing in Green again for the same reasons that I aspired in the first place. These are my people, this is my home, and Green is all about the woman that I am and want to become.
- Are you like the Greens in the books? Do you like to have fun with men? Are you a fierce warrior?
I think that I’m very much like the Greens in the books. I have fun with men as friends and as partners (I’m monogamous, so one at a time!) and I’m happily married as of April 30, 2023. I’m also a pretty dedicated warrior. I’ve overcome a lot in my life and I’m sure that there will be more battles to fight as the years go on. I am confident that with my brothers and sisters by my side that I can overcome anything.
- Do you have a favorite Green Ajah character from the novels?
Probably Egwene. Her journey through the books reminds me of myself in a lot of ways; as you read the books, you really grow up with Egwene. I started reading the books when I was 11 and it was a beautiful thing to watch Egwene go from a village girl to the most powerful woman in the known world.
- How long have you been a fan of the Wheel of Time series?
As of this writing, it’ll be 16 years.
- How did you first get into the series?
My middle school librarian suggested the series to me and that was that!
- Who is your favorite "hero"?
Nynaeve, hands down. Or Moiraine. I love them both for very different reasons. I firmly believe that Nynaeve suffers from PTSD and that the books represented her journey through recovery (especially breaking her Block!) and I could really identify with that, as someone who has PTSD. Moiraine, on the other hand, is just a badass. And Rosamund Pike is my girl-crush.
- Favorite bad guy/gal?
I remember feeling the most entertained by Rhuarc. Aiel humor is definitely my humor! It broke my freaking heart when it turned out he was Black Ajah!
- Favorite book and scene?
Oh this is so tough! I think my favorite is actually New Spring and my favorite scene is when Lan and Moiraine bond. It’s just so powerful.
- If you were set down in Randland, who/what would you see yourself as? An Aes Sedai? Innkeeper? Seanchan Captain?
I’d be an Aiel Wise One that started out as a sheep-herder and a village gal. I’d keep up with my heirloom hobbies and generally kick ass.
- How did you find TarValon.Net and what convinced you to stay and become Tower Sworn?
I don’t remember how I actually found Tar Valon. I am pretty sure it was through Jaryd Kosari! I was convinced to stay on and become TS because of the people here. I love most of y’all dearly. It’s good to be a part of a community.
- What do you do in "real life"?
I’m in grad school currently, with my eyes on a PhD for Counselor Ed and Supervision. I hope to be a psychotherapist that specializes in trauma and trains future counselors.
- Do you have any hobbies?
I have hobbies out the wazoo! I knit, I spin yarn on my functioning spinning wheel, I embroider, and I sew. I also enjoy reading and writing.
- What kind of music do you enjoy listening to?
Though I am happily married, I love Very Sad Breakup music. It’s usually very chill, soft, and slow.
- What are some of your favorite movies / television shows?
I actually don’t watch a ton of television. Maybe Only Murders in the Building and King of the Hill?
- Aside from The Wheel of Time, what are a few of your favorite books/series?
Mercedes Lackey’s Valdemar series and anything with prose that I think is beautiful. I love Madeline Miller and Sarah Parker.
- What profession did you want to have when you were a kid?
I think a veterinarian? I can’t really recall.
