Raen: A man of the Tuatha'an; he is married to Ila and Aram's grandfather.

Rafela Cindal: An Aes Sedai of the Blue Ajah. She is bonded to Mahiro Shukosa and is sworn to Rand.

Ragan: A soldier from Shienar. He accompanies Ingtar and the others in the hunt for the Horn of Valere.

Ragon: A man who fights with Lan's forces at Tarwin's Gap.

Rahema Arnon: A woman from Altara; a grain merchant in So Habor.

Rahien Demain: A young nobleman from Kandor; Ines Demain's son.

Rahman: A nobleman from Arad Doman; he is loyal to King Alsalam.

Rahvin: A Forsaken; his name before turning to the Shadow was Ared Mosinel. Killed by Rand in ‘The Fires of Heaven.’

Raidhen: A historical character; a ruler of Hol Cuchone.

Raimun Holdwin: A man from Andor; the innkeeper of the Goose and Crown and a Darkfriend.

Rainyn: A young woman of the Sea Folk; a Windfinder.

Rajabi: A nobleman from Arad Doman; he is Dragonsworn but joined with Rodel to fight the Seanchan and was with him when Rodel agreed to work with Rand. He falls to a draghkar outside Maradon

Rajar: A young man from Arad Doman; he is an officer among the Younglings and after reunification is chosen as a warder.

Rakim: A man from Saldaea; a soldier in Lan's company during the Aiel War. Je joins Lan on his march across the Borderlands.

Ramedar, Joal:

Ramesa: An Aes Sedai of the White Ajah; she sides with the White Tower.

Ramey: A man from Andor; groom in The Queen's Blessing.

Ramola: An Aes Sedai of the Black Ajah who is involved in Mesaana's strike on the Tower in Tel'aran'rhiod.

Ramshalan: A minor Domani noble that joins Rand's court in Arad Doman. Rand uses him to confirm Graendal's location then abandons him two days from any villages

Ramsid Almadar: A nobleman from Arad Doman; King Alsalam's brother. Graendal keeps him as pet.

Ramsin, Kalyan:

Rana: A woman from Andor; a seamstress in Baerlon. Min's aunt.

Rand al'Thor: A man from the Two Rivers; the Dragon Reborn,Car'a'carn, Coramoor and King of Illian. Son of Tigraine Mantear and Janduin, but raised by Kari and Tam al'Thor. his temper and mood grow increasingly dark but this breaks when he realises that the reason he is fighting is so that the world is worth living in and laughs again.

Ranun Sinah: A Whitecloak killed fighting Trollocs

Raolin Darksbane: A historical character; a false Dragon.

Rashan (1): Erian Boroleos' Warder.

Rashan (2): A man from Arad Doman; he is one of Graendal's pets.

Rashima Kerenmosa: A historical character; Amyrlin Seat raised from the Green Ajah during the Trolloc Wars.

Reale: A woman from Cairhien; one of Colavaere's attendants.

Reanne Corly: The Eldest of the Kin. She was murdered in 'Knife of Dreams.'

Rebek: A Domani recruited by Durnham to join the reformed city guard

Reene Harfor: A woman from Andor; the First Maid of the Royal Palace in Caemlyn.

Reeve, Will:

Reiko: An Aes Sedai of the Blue Ajah, therefore aligned with the rebels. She is originally from Arafel.

Reimon: A young nobleman from Tear. A Banner-General in the Band of the Red Hand.

Remedan: A historical character; a King of Aelgar.

Ren Chandin: A young man from the Two Rivers; he is killed in a Trolloc ambush.

Renaile din Calon Blue Star: A woman of the Atha'an Miere; a Windfinder, formerly to the Mistress of the Ships Nesta din Reas Two Moons, and now secretary to Chanelle din Seran White Shark. She is present when Egwene tries to organise an alliance between Aes Sedai, Wise Ones and Windfinders.

Renala Merlon: A woman mentioned by Egwene who appears in the histories.

Renald Fanwar: A Shienaran farmer who follows Thulin north

Renald Macer: A sergeant in the palace guard in Andor

Rendra: A woman from Tarabon; the innkeeper of the Three Plum Court in Tanchico.

Renel: A street vendor in Caemlyn that Rand meets in one of the worlds the Dark One could create.

Renna Emain: A woman from Seanchan; a sul'dam. Killed by Harnan and Gorderan, after stabbing Egeanin and running away to betray Mat and his company.

Rhadam Asunawa: The High Inquisitor of the Children of the Light. He takes Galad prisoner but is killed by men loyal to Galad.

Rhea (1): A woman of the Da'shain Aiel; Adan and Siedre's daughter; Elwin, Jaren, Marind and Sorelle's sister.

Rhea (2): A historical character; Caar One-hand's wife.

Rhea Avin: A woman from Emond's Field.

Rhiale: A Wise One of the Shaido Aiel.

Riallin: An Aiel Maiden of the Spear.

Rianna Andomeran: An Aes Sedai of the White Ajah; she is also Black. She is originally from Kandor. The last we see of her, she is assigned a task by Moghedien.

Rina Hafden: An Aes Sedai of the Green Ajah; bonded to Elyas Machera and Waylin.

Rinnin: One of Renald's farm hands. He goes north with Renald when they follow Thulin.

Rion:

Riselle: A woman from Altara; an attendant to Queen Tylin in the Tarasin Palace in Ebou Dar. She marries Efraim Yamada.

Rising: A tall dun gelding that Birgitte rides when Elayne goes to Cairhien to claim the Sun Throne.

Rissen: A man from Saldaea; a soldier under Vilnar Barada.

Rittle: A gambler who plays dice with Mat at The Dusty Wheel and tries to cheat him.

Robb Solter: A Two Rivers man with Perrin. After Perrin proposes parley with the Whitecloaks, Robb rides back to Perrin's tent

Rodel Ituralde: A man from Arad Doman; one of the five great generals of the Westlands. He leads a defence against the Seanchan, which is sucsesful but they gather an army large enough to crush him. He agree to follow Rand as a way out and successfully defends Maradon against a Shadowspawn army.

Rodera: A Far Dareis Mai of the Shaido Aiel; she is held gai'shain by Amys.

Rodic: A broad shouldered man bonded to Magla.

Rodrivar Tihera: A very minor nobleman from Tear; the Captain of the Stone.

Roedran Almaric do Arreloa a'Naloy: The King of Murandy. He does not to to the meeting at the Field of Merrilor

Rogad, Gorin:

Rogosh Eagle-eye: A historical character; a Hero of the Horn. Also Rogosh of Talmour.

Roidan: An Aiel of the Salt Flat Nakai and leader of the Sha'mad Conde (Thunder Walkers) on the western side of the Spine of the World.

Roidelle, Master:

Rolan: One of the Mera'din (Brotherless), who join the Shaido. Killed by Perrin in 'Knife of Dreams.'

Romanda Cassin: An Aes Sedai of the Yellow Ajah; she is aligned with the rebels and Sitter in their Hall. She is the first to re-swear the oath and prove she is not Black Ajah. She retains her seat and influence after reunification.
