Adan: One of Rand's ancestors, a Da'shain Aiel.
Adelin: A Maiden of the Spear of the Jindo sept of the Taardad Aiel. She was one of the Maidens from the Stone of Tear, around ten years older than Rand.
Adine Lewin: A woman from the Two Rivers, married to Flann Lewin.
Alteima: A High Lady of Tear. She is married to the High Lord Tedosian. She is sent by Rand to Cairhien to oversee the distribution of food.
Amathera Aelfdene Casmir Lounault: The Panarch of Tarabon, being held hostage by the Black Ajah.
Aracome: A High Lord of Tear, who is sent by Rand to Cairhien.
Astelle al'Seen: An old whitehaired woman from the Two Rivers, related to Jac al'Seen.
Bael:
Ban al'Seen: A young man from the Two Rivers and one of Jac al'Seen's sons.
Bethamin Zeami: A sul'dam captured and later freed by Egeanin.
Bili al'Dai: A young man from the Two Rivers. He joins Perrin in the hunt for Trollocs, but is killed in an ambush.
Bodewhin Cauthon: The older of Mat Cauthon's two sisters.
Carleon: A High Lord of Tear. He is killed by another High Lord - Tedosian.
Carlomin: Carlomin is a young Tairen lord, who plays cards with Mat.
Couladin: An Aiel of the Domai sept of the Shaido Aiel. He does not go to Rhuidean, but gets marked as the Car'a'carn and tries to convice the Aiel that he is the rightful He Who Comes With the Dawn.
Dannil Lewin: A young man from the Two Rivers and one of Flann Lewin's nephews. His brother is Tell Lewin.
Dorindha: A Maiden of the Spear, possibly of the Taardad Aiel. She was one of the Maidens who talked Mat into playing Maiden's Kiss back in the Stone of Tear.
Eldrin Cauthon: The younger of Mat Cauthon's two sisters.
Eldrith Jhondar: An Aes Sedai previously from the Brown Ajah, now openly from the Black Ajah. She was part of Liandrin's group in Tanchico.
Elisa al'Seen: A woman from the Two Rivers and wife to Jac al'Seen.

Farran: A hundredman in the Children of the Light.
Flann Lewin: A man from the Two Rivers. After his farm was attacked, Jac al'Seen took him in his farm.
Hadnan Kadere: A peddler that went into the Aiel Waste and met Rand on his way to Cold Rocks Hold. Rand doesn't trust him.
Heirn: An Aiel sept chief of the Jindo sept of the Taardad Aiel. He supports Rand al'Thor as the Car'a'carn.
Hu Marwin: A young man from the Two Rivers, who is supposed to be a very good tracker. He joins Perrin's group that would free the Emond's Field prisoners from Whitecloaks.
Ihvon: One of Alanna Mosvani's Warders.
Isendre: Isendre is a young beautiful woman, who travels into the Waste with Hadnan Kadere.
Ivon: A soldier in the Children of the Light.
Jac al'Seen: A man from the Two Rivers. He is a farmer who lives between Emond's Field and Watch Hill.
Haim:
Jaim Torfinn: A young man from the Two Rivers, who is supposed to be a very good with the bow. He joins Perrin's group that would free the Emond's Field prisoners from Whitecloaks.
Jasin Natael: A gleeman traveling with a peddler's caravan in the Aiel Waste. It turns out this was Asmodean disguising as a gleeman all along.
Jheran: The clan chief of the Shaarad Aiel.

Leilwin: A Taraboner noblewoman, who was kidnapped by Floran Gelb, after he thought she looked like one of the sul'dam Egeanin was searching for. She was sent off to Seanchan as da'covale.

Amys: An Aiel Wise One of the Nine Valleys sept of the Taardad Aiel. She is married to Rhuarc and teaches Egwene Dreamwalking.
Asmodean: One of the male Forsaken. He travels with a peddler's caravan under the guise of a gleeman named Jasin Natael. Rand and Asmodean fight in Rhuidean, Lanfear shields Asmodean in such a way that he can touch the One Power, but he can channel only a trickle, enough to teach Rand.
Asne Zeramene: An Aes Sedai previously from the Green Ajah, now openly from the Black Ajah. She was part of Liandrin's group in Tanchico.
Bair: An Aiel Wise One of the Haido Sept of the Shaarad Aiel. She cannot channel, and she is a Dreamwalker.
Melaine: An Aiel Wise One of the Jhirad Sept of the Goshien Aiel. She is a Dreamwalker.
Marillin Gemalphin: An Aes Sedai previously from the Brown Ajah, now openly from the Black Ajah. She was part of Liandrin's group in Tanchico.

Alsbet Luhhan: The wife of Haral Luhhan. After being freed from the Whitecloaks by Perrin, she helps around Emond's Field when they are under Trolloc attacks.
Alviarin Freidhen: An Aes Sedai of the White Ajah, who helps Elaida depose Siuan Sanche as the Amyrlin. She becomes Elaida's Keeper of the Chronicles.
Alwhin: A previous sul'dam and currently High Lady Suroth's so'jhin and raised to Voice of the Blood.

Dain Bornhald: An officer of the Children of the Light and son to Geofram Bornhald. Dain believes Perrin killed his father and wants to kill him as vengeance.
Daise Congar: The new Wisdom of Emond's Field.
Darl Coplin: A man from Emond's Field in the Two Rivers. His brother is Hari Coplin.
Egeanin Tarmarath: A ship captain of Seanchan left on the continent after the Seanchan's fail in Falme. She meets Nynaeve and Elayne in Tanchico and helps them.
Egwene al'Vere: Egwene is an Accepted of the White Tower. She travels with Rand to the Waste to learn to be a Dreamwalker from the Aiel Wise Ones.
Elaida do Avriny a'Roihan: An Aes Sedai of the Red Ajah, Elaida was the counsilor to Queen Morgase of Andor, until Morgase sent her away. She convinces the Hall of the Tower to depose the current Amyrlin Siuan Sanche and still her, appointing Elaida the new Amyrlin Seat.
Elayne Trakand: The Daughter Heir of Andor. Elayne is also an Accepted of the White Tower in search of the Black Ajah.
Elmindreda Farshaw: A young woman from Baerlon, who has the ability to see auras around people. She is helping the Amyrlin Seat find more Black Sisters in the Tower. She helps the deposed Siuan Sanche escape the White Tower.
Faolain Orande: An Accepted of the White Tower, who first welcomes Min and asks her how the Tower may help her.
Floran Gelb: A previous member of Bayle Domon's crew and now surviving as street thug in Tanchico. He tried to kidnap Nynaeve, confusing her for one of the sul'dam that Egeanin was looking for.
Galadedrid Damodred: He is the son of Taringail Damodred and the previous Queen of Andor - Tigraine.
Gaul: Gaul is an Aiel man of the Imran Sept of the Shaarad Aiel, and a Shae'en M'taal, Stone Dog. He joins Perrin and together they go to the Two Rivers to fight Whitecloaks and Trollocs.
Gawyn Trakand: He is the son of Queen Morgase, which makes him the Prince of Andor and Elayne's brother. He leads Younglings in defence of the Tower when Siuan Sanche is deposed as Amyrlin.
Haral Luhhan: Emond's Field blacksmith. After being freed from the Whitecloaks by Perrin, he helps defend Emond's Field from Trolloc attacks.
Hari Coplin: A man from Emond's Field in the Two Rivers. His brother is Darl Coplin.

Jaret Byar: A soldier of the Children of the Light. He is second in command to Dain Bornhald. Byar also believes that Perrin killed Geofram Bornhald and wants revenge.

Lanfear: One of the female Forsaken and once, a lover to Lews Therin Telamon. Now, she secretly tries to help Rand learn to channel, so that they can 'rule' together.
Leane Sharif: Siuan Sanche's Keeper of the Chronicles, raised from the Blue Ajah. She is stilled after Siuan is deposed as Amyrlin.
Liandrin: An Aes Sedai previously from the Red Ajah, now openly from the Black Ajah. She was sent to Tanchico to look for something that would harm a man who could channel, but once riots broke out in the city, she was forced to run away.
Moiraine Damodred: An Aes Sedai of the Blue Ajah a nobleowman from Cairhien. Moiraine follows Rand, who has proclaimed himself the Dragon Reborn, into the Aiel Waste.
Nynaeve al'Meara: Nynaeve is an Accepted of the White Tower, who is also sent on a hunt for the Black Ajah.
Ordeith: An alias Padan Fain uses, while he is with the Children of the Light in the Two Rivers.
Padan Fain: A past peddler, Darkfriend, who calls himself Ordeith now and is working with the Whitecloaks.
Perrin Aybara: A blacksmith from the Two Rivers and a ta'veren. After almost a year away, Perrin goes back to the Two Rivers to protect his family and becomes its lord.

Aemon al Caar al Thorin: The last king of the now dead country of Manetheren.
Aginor: One of the Forsaken, killed by Rand at the Eye of the World. He is the one who created the Trollocs and Myrdraal.
Artur Hawkwing: A historical character, skilled general and battle leader. He managed to conquer the Westlands. All land between the Aryth Ocean and the Spine of the World, except for the lands held by Tar Valon, were under his control until his death.
Balthamel: One of the Forsaken, killed by Rand at the Eye of the World.
Chesmal Emry: An Aes Sedai previously from the Yellow Ajah, now openly from the Black Ajah.

Hammar: A Warder of the White Tower, who teaches young men the sword. He was a blademaster, killed by Gawyn, when Siuan Sanche was deposed as Amyrlin.
Jain Fairstrider: A writer and travelere, famous for his book "The Travels of Jain Farstrider".
Kari al'Thor: Kari was Tam al'Thor's wife, but she died when Rand was still a baby.
Laman Damodred: King of Cairhien who cut down Avendoraldera, a gift from the Aiel, which began the Aiel War. He was killed during the war.
Lews Therin Telamon: The Dragon, called also Lews Therin Kinslayer. He had begun the Breaking in the last age.
Luthair Paendrag: The son of Artur Hawkwing, who created the Seanchan empire, becoming its first emperor.
Mazrim Taim: A man from Saldaea. He can channel, and had proclaimed himself the Dragon Reborn, before Rand claimed Callandor.
Morgase Trakand: The Queen of Andor and mother of Elayne and Gawyn.
Owyn Merrilin: The nephew of Thom Merrilin. He was gentled by Aes Sedai who found out he is able to channel. He died short after that.
Pedron Niall: The Lord Captain Commander of the Children of the Light.

Turak: A High Lord of Seanchan and previous leader of the Hailene. He was a blademaster and was killed by Rand in a duel.
Uno Nomesta: A Shienaran soldier, who uses harsh words when someone is acting silly. Perrin think of what he would say.
