Adelin: A Maiden of the Spear of the Jindo sept of the Taardad Aiel. She was one of the Maidens from the Stone of Tear, around ten years older than Rand.

Adine Lewin: A woman from the Two Rivers, married to Flann Lewin.

Alteima: A High Lady of Tear. She is married to the High Lord Tedosian. She is sent by Rand to Cairhien to oversee the distribution of food.

Amathera Aelfdene Casmir Lounault: The Panarch of Tarabon, being held hostage by the Black Ajah.

Amys: An Aiel Wise One of the Nine Valleys sept of the Taardad Aiel. She is married to Rhuarc and teaches Egwene Dreamwalking.

Asmodean: One of the male Forsaken. He travels with a peddler's caravan under the guise of a gleeman named Jasin Natael. Rand and Asmodean fight in Rhuidean, Lanfear shields Asmodean in such a way that he can touch the One Power, but he can channel only a trickle, enough to teach Rand.

Asne Zeramene: An Aes Sedai previously from the Green Ajah, now openly from the Black Ajah. She was part of Liandrin's group in Tanchico.

Bair: An Aiel Wise One of the Haido Sept of the Shaarad Aiel. She cannot channel, and she is a Dreamwalker.

Melaine: An Aiel Wise One of the Jhirad Sept of the Goshien Aiel. She is a Dreamwalker.

Alsbet Luhhan: The wife of Haral Luhhan. After being freed from the Whitecloaks by Perrin, she helps around Emond's Field when they are under Trolloc attacks.

Alviarin Freidhen: An Aes Sedai of the White Ajah, who helps Elaida depose Siuan Sanche as the Amyrlin. She becomes Elaida's Keeper of the Chronicles.

Alwhin: A previous sul'dam and currently High Lady Suroth's so'jhin and raised to Voice of the Blood.

Dain Bornhald: An officer of the Children of the Light and son to Geofram Bornhald. Dain believes Perrin killed his father and wants to kill him as vengeance.

Daise Congar: The new Wisdom of Emond's Field.

Darl Coplin: A man from Emond's Field in the Two Rivers. His brother is Hari Coplin.

Egeanin Tarmarath: A ship captain of Seanchan left on the continent after the Seanchan's fail in Falme. She meets Nynaeve and Elayne in Tanchico and helps them.

Egwene al'Vere: Egwene is an Accepted of the White Tower. She travels with Rand to the Waste to learn to be a Dreamwalker from the Aiel Wise Ones.

Elaida do Avriny a'Roihan: An Aes Sedai of the Red Ajah, Elaida was the counsilor to Queen Morgase of Andor, until Morgase sent her away. She convinces the Hall of the Tower to depose the current Amyrlin Siuan Sanche and still her, appointing Elaida the new Amyrlin Seat.

Elayne Trakand: The Daughter Heir of Andor. Elayne is also an Accepted of the White Tower in search of the Black Ajah.

Elmindreda Farshaw: A young woman from Baerlon, who has the ability to see auras around people. She is helping the Amyrlin Seat find more Black Sisters in the Tower. She helps the deposed Siuan Sanche escape the White Tower.

Faolain Orande: An Accepted of the White Tower, who first welcomes Min and asks her how the Tower may help her.

Gaidal Cain:

Galadedrid Damodred: He is the son of Taringail Damodred and the previous Queen of Andor - Tigraine.

Gaul: Gaul is an Aiel man of the Imran Sept of the Shaarad Aiel, and a Shae'en M'taal, Stone Dog. He joins Perrin and together they go to the Two Rivers to fight Whitecloaks and Trollocs.

Gawyn Trakand: He is the son of Queen Morgase, which makes him the Prince of Andor and Elayne's brother. He leads Younglings in defence of the Tower when Siuan Sanche is deposed as Amyrlin.

Haral Luhhan: Emond's Field blacksmith. After being freed from the Whitecloaks by Perrin, he helps defend Emond's Field from Trolloc attacks.

Hari Coplin: A man from Emond's Field in the Two Rivers. His brother is Darl Coplin.

Aemon al Caar al Thorin: The last king of the now dead country of Manetheren.

Aginor: One of the Forsaken, killed by Rand at the Eye of the World. He is the one who created the Trollocs and Myrdraal.

Artur Hawkwing: A historical character, skilled general and battle leader. He managed to conquer the Westlands. All land between the Aryth Ocean and the Spine of the World, except for the lands held by Tar Valon, were under his control until his death.

Balthamel: One of the Forsaken, killed by Rand at the Eye of the World.

Geofram Bornhald: A Captain Commander of the Children of the Light, who died at Falme.

Gitara Moroso: An Aes Sedai who Foretold the birth of the Dragon Reborn on the slopes of Dragonmount, before she died. She was Tamra Ospenya's first Keeper of the Chronicles. Raised from the Blue Ajah.

Hammar: A Warder of the White Tower, who teaches young men the sword. He was a blademaster, killed by Gawyn, when Siuan Sanche was deposed as Amyrlin.

Jain Fairstrider: A writer and travelere, famous for his book "The Travels of Jain Farstrider".

Kari al'Thor: Kari was Tam al'Thor's wife, but she died when Rand was still a baby.

Laman Damodred: King of Cairhien who cut down Avendoraldera, a gift from the Aiel, which began the Aiel War. He was killed during the war.

Lews Therin Telamon: The Dragon, called also Lews Therin Kinslayer. He had begun the Breaking in the last age.

Luthair Paendrag: The son of Artur Hawkwing, who created the Seanchan empire, becoming its first emperor.

Masema Dagar:

Mazrim Taim: A man from Saldaea. He can channel, and had proclaimed himself the Dragon Reborn, before Rand claimed Callandor.

Morgase Trakand: The Queen of Andor and mother of Elayne and Gawyn.

Owyn Merrilin: The nephew of Thom Merrilin. He was gentled by Aes Sedai who found out he is able to channel. He died short after that.

Pedron Niall: The Lord Captain Commander of the Children of the Light.

Rianna Andomeran: An Aes Sedai previously from the White Ajah, now openly from the Black Ajah.

Uno Nomesta: A Shienaran soldier, who uses harsh words when someone is acting silly. Perrin think of what he would say.
