Adelin: Far Dareis Mai of the Jindo Taardad. One of the Maidens who watch over Rand al'Thor.
Aeron: A Wise One of the Black Water Nakai who cannot channel. She does not trust any Aes Sedai after Rand al'Thor gets kidnapped by a group of them.
Agirin: Far Dareis Mai of the Shelan Daryne. She died during the battle at Dumai's Wells.
Alarys: A Shaido Wise One with Sevanna. She is very proud of her black hair, which is unusual among the Aiel.
Alsera: Wife of the Nakai clan chief, Bruan, she is the Roofmistress of Shiagi Hold.
Amaryn: Sorilea's great daughter.
Amys: A Wise One from Cold Rocks Hold of the Nine Valleys Taardad; is a dreamwalker and wife of Rhuarc. In her youth she was one of the Maidens who found Tigraine in the Aiel Waste. She tells Rhuarc to cross the Dragonwall and search for the Car'a'carn, teaches Egwene dreamwalking, and advises Rand in many matters. She also participates as surrogate mother in Elayne's and Aviendha's first-sister ceremony.
Andhilin: Far Dareis Mai of the Red Salt Goshien; one of the women who died for Rand.
Aviellin: Far Dareis Mai; accompanies Perrin to Ghealdan.
Aviendha: Of the Nine Valleys Taardad, she was Far Dareis Mai but because of an inborn ability to channel is now training to be a Wise One. She is first-sister to Elayne, bonded to Rand al'Thor, and one of three women in a relationship with him.
Bael: Clan chief of the Goshien and a member of the Jhirad sept. He is also married to Dorindha and Melaine and is a supporter of Rand al'Thor.
Baerin: The mother of one of the Wise One apprentices in Cairhien; formerly Far Dareis Mai.
Bain: Far Dareis Mai of the Black Rock Shaarad; is first-sister to Chiad and a good friend of Faile. She was one of Faile's companions who were captured with her by Sevanna's Shaido. She refused to attempt escape because of her strong belief in ji'e'toh.
Bair: A Wise One of the Haido Shaarad who cannot channel. She was the first Wise One to give permission to Rand when he asked to enter Rhuidean. She later tells Aviendha to spy on Rand.
Beira: One of Bair's gai'shain. The Bleakness has overcome her and she is unwilling to put off the white even with physical force.
Belinde: A Shaido Wise One. She survives Dumai's Wells and is one of the women who tortures Galina.
Bendhuin: Sept chief of the Green Salts Shaido; was Far Aldazar Din. His whereabouts are unknown after he leads his Shaido through Sammael's gateway.
Beralna: Far Dareis Mai; acts as a messenger between Rand and Far Dareis Mai. She also guards Milisair Chadmar.
Briain: Far Dareis Mai; helps Perrin in his search for his kidnapped wife, Faile. She dies in the rescue of Faile.
Bruan: Clan chief of the Nakai Aiel and a member of Salt Flat sept. He recognizes Rand as the Car'a'carn and helps him scout and fight the Shaido.
Cairdin: A Moshaine Shaido; was dispersed by Sammael.
Caldin: Hama N'Dore; tries to convince Rand to accept more bodyguards.
Camar: Seia Doon of the Bent Peak Daryne. He is one of the Aiel who accompany Rand while visiting the Atha'an Miere.
Carahuin: Far Dareis Mai; enjoys embarrassing Perrin by surrounding him with naked gai'shain.
Careen: Far Dareis Mai; one of Rand's guards at the Stone of Tear.
Carelle: A Wise One who accompanies Perrin to Ghealdan.
Cassin: "Aethan Dor" of the Goshien. He frequently accompanies Rand.
Chaelin: A Wise One of the Smoke Water Miagoma. She is one of the Wise Ones who instruct the apprentice Aes Sedai in Cairhien.
Chenda: Of the Jenda Tomanelle; a former roof mistress of Mainde Cut Hold when Bair was a girl. She forced a young Haido to take her as gai'shain, which caused trouble between the two septs. She is likely dead by now.
Chiad: Far Dareis Mai of the Stones River Goshien, and fist-sister to Bain. She was a member of the group of Maidens who crossed the Dragonwall to find the Car'a'carn. She was also one of Faile's companions captured with her by Sevanna's Shaido. She refused to attempt escape because of her strong belief in ji'e'toh and is now gai'shain to Gaul.
Chiarid: Far Dareis Mai, and one of Rand's followers. She is one of the Maidens who see Rand as a trouble-prone younger brother who needs tending.
Chion: Far Dareis Mai serving as gai'shain. She was killed by a Draghkar, possibly trying to protect Rand.
Chuonde: Far Dareis Mai of the Spine Ridge Maigoma. She dies at the Battle of Dumai's Wells.
Coedelin: A Wise One of unknown age who taught Amys.
Colinda: A Shaarad Wise One who can channel. She is partly in charge of the Aes Sedai prisoners.
Coram: An algai'd'siwsai who crosses the Dragonwall in search of the Car'a'carn.
Corana: Far Dareis Mai; treats Rand like an older brother and is one of the Aiel accompanying him to Caemlyn. She is with the Aiel in Arad Doman.
Corehuin: Of the Daryne; one of Mandelain's wives and Jair's sister-wife.
Corelna: One of the Aiel Wise Ones who follow Rand.
Corman: Far Aldazar Din of the Mosaada Goshien; a leader of Rand's guards at the Sun Palace in Cairhien.
Cosain: A Wise One of the Spine Ridge Miagoma; one of the women who punishes Egwene for lying to them.
Couladin: Seia Doon of the Domai Shaido. He breaks a number of Aiel customs, such as pretending to be the clan chief without having been to Rhuidean and taking people who don't follow ji'e'toh as gai'shain. He was killed by Mat near Cairhien.
Cowinde: Far Dareis Mai who is held gai'shain by Melaine; she often serves Egwene during her stay with the Aiel.
Dagendra: Far Dareis Mai; one of Rand's guards.
Dailin (1): Far Dareis Mai of the Nine Valleys Taardad; Aviendha's second-sister. She was killed by a Myrddraal after rescuing Elayne, Egwene and Nynaeve.
Dailin (2): A Shaido Wise One at the battle of Dumai's Wells.
Darin: Shae'en M'taal of the Moshaine Shaido; son of the sept chief. He is one of the Shaido dispersed by Sammael.
Daviena: One of the Wise Ones who follow Rand. She is able to channel.
Dedric: Aethan Dor of the Jaen Rift Codarra. He accompanies Rand in Cairhien.
Delora: One of the Wise Ones who accompanies Perrin to Ghealdan.
Desaine: A Shaido Wise One who opposes Sevanna. She was killed by Wise Ones loyal to Sevanna, though her death is blamed on the Aes Sedai.
Desora: Far Dareis Mai of the Musara Reyn; sometimes accompanied Rand as a guard. She died from a crossbow bolt, saving Rand.
Dhael: An algai'd'siswai who crossed the Dragonwall searching for the Car'a'carn.
Dhearic: Clan chief of the Reyn; was Duadhe Mahdi'in". He is a strict follower of ji'e'toh.
Doilan: A Shaido warrior taken as gai'shain when the Shaido are defeated.
Domeille: Far Dareis Mai.
Dorailla: A Shaido Wise One present at the battle of Dumai's Wells.
Dorindha (1): Roofmistress of the Smoke Springs Goshien; wife of Bael and sister-wife of Melaine.
Dorindha (2): Far Dareis Mai; was in the Stone of Tear. She enjoyed playing Maiden's Kiss with Mat.
Dosera: A Shaido Wise One; was killed by a wolf at Dumai's Wells.
Dyrele: Formerly Far Dareis Mai; is married to Maeric, sept chief of the Moshaine Shaido.
Edarra: A Wise One of the Neder Shiande. She is a strong channeler and accompanies Perrin to Ghealdan.
Efalin: Shaido Far Dareis Mai; one of Sevanna's followers.
Elienda: Far Dareis Mai; one of Perrin's scouts. She dies in the rescue of Faile.
Emerys: A Shaido Wise One; a possible opponent of Sevanna.
Enaila: Far Dareis Mai of the Jarra Chareen; one of the Maidens who guard Rand.
Erim: Clan chief of the Chareen; he helps Rand bring the clans together after Rand's visit to Rhuidean.
Estair: Apprentice to Aeron, a Wise One.
Estalaine: A Shaido Wise One; died fighting at Dumai's Wells.
Feraighin: A Wise One and follower of Rand. She warns Rand of the conditions in Caemlyn since his capture.
Feran: An algai'd'siswai whose greatfather is Sorilea's sister-son; he wants to attract Enaila's interest.
Garan: Of the Jhirad Goshien; was taken gai'shain by Joinde, who makes a bridal wreath for him.
Gaul: Shae'en M'taal of the Imran Shaarad. He is one of Rand's guards and accompanies Perrin to Ghealdan. He wants Chiad to marry him.
Gharadin: Of the Shaido; taken gai'shain by Rand's Aiel at Dumai's Wells.
Hamal: A blacksmith of the Moshaine Shaido; he is currently one of the Aiel dispersed by Sammael.
Han: Clan chief of the Tomanelle. He was one of the chiefs proclaimed Rand as the Car'a'carn.
Harilin: Far Dareis Mai of the Iron Mountain Taardad; one of Rand's guards at the Sun Palace in Cairhien.
Heidia: Far Dareis Mai; known by Rand to not be a darkfriend.
Heirn: Sept chief of the Jindo Taardad; is a member of Tain Shari.
Ifeyina: Far Dareis Mai; one of Rand's guards.
Indirian: Clan chief of the Codarra.
Isan: Far Dareis Mai of the Jarra Chareen; was killed at Dumai's Wells.
Jair: Of the Daryne; wife to clan chief Mandelain and sister-wife to Corehuin.
Jalani: Far Dareis Mai; she often accompanies Rand.
Janduin: Clan chief of the Taardad and a member of Iron Mountain sept. He was Rand's biological father and was killed by Luc Mantear.
Janina: A Wise One who accompanies Perrin.
Janwin: Clan chief of the Shiande.
Jendhilin: Far Dareis Mai of the Cold Peak Miagoma. She was killed when the renegade Asha'man attack Rand in Cairhien.
Jenric: An algai'd'siswai who gambles with Mat in Rhuidean.
Jesain: A Shaido Wise Ones who can channel.
Jheran: Clan chief of the Shaarad; was Sovin Nai. He is one of Rand's supporters.
Jhoradin: A Mera'din who joins the Shaido. He was killed by Lacile Aldorwin during the rescue of Faile.
Joinde: Far Dareis Mai of the Black Rock Shaarad; she takes Garan as gai'shain and makes a bridal wreath for him.
Jolien: Far Dareis Mai of the Salt Flat Nakai; crossed the Dragonwall to search for the Car'a'carn. She is killed during the battle at Cairhien.
Juranai: The leader of "Aethan Dor"; accompanies Rand to the observation tower in Cairhien.
Juric: One of Bair's gai'shain; has been overcome by the bleakness.
Kainea: Far Dareis Mai.
Kanara: Far Dareis Mai.
Kinhuin: A Mera'din who joins the Jumai Shaido. He is killed during the rescue of Faile.
Laerad: Duadhe Mahdi'in of the Moshaine Shaido; one of the Aiel dispersed by Sammael.
Lamelle: Far Dareis Mai of the Smoke Water Miagoma; was killed in battle in Caemlyn.

Leiran: Sha'mad Conde of the Cosaida Chareen; also siswai'aman.
Lerian: Far Dareis Mai; one of Rand's guards in Caemlyn.
Leyn: A Wise One who can channel strongly.
Liah: Far Dareis Mai of the Cosaida Chareen; Rand kills her when she is touched by mashadar in Aridhol.
Lian (2): Roofmistress of the Nine Valleys Taardad; wife of Rhuarc. She is also the sister-wife to Amys and sister-mother of Aviendha.
Losaine: A Wise One who can channel; brings the da'tsang to Verin.
Luaine: Far Dareis Mai; helps Rhuarc and Aviendha rescue Egwene, Elayne and Nynaeve from brigands.
Maeric: Sept chief of the Moshaine Shaido and leader of the Seia Doon of the Shaido; leads part of the attack on the Aes Sedai who hold Rand at Dumai's Wells. He is now one of the Aiel dispersed by Sammael.
Maira: An Maiden of the Spear of the Serai Tomanelle; one of Rand's guards.
Malindare: A Maiden of the Spear.
Malindhe: A Wise One; one of the Wise Ones who is discontent with the visits of the Shaido Wise Ones.
Mandelain: Clan chief of the Daryne Aiel and husband of Jair and Corehuin.
Manderic: A Shaido warrior. He captured Chiad as gai'shain.
Mandhuin: Sept chief of the Goshien Aiel; he challenges Rand and Rhuarc when they arrive at Alcair Dal.
Mangin: A Stone Dog of the Jindo Taardad; he is hanged after he kills a Cairhienin for tattooing a dragon on his arm.
Maric: An Aiel warrior and one of Rand's guards.
Marline: An Aiel Wise One who accompanies Perrin to Ghealdan.
Marthea: A Shaido Maiden who was Arella's lover
Masalin: A Shaido Wise One who cannot channel.
Meciar: A Night Spear; one of the Aiel who accompany Rand to Caemlyn. He is a siswai'aman.
Megana: A Wise One; she and Bair send out scouts to watch for Rand's return after he is captured by Aes Sedai.
Meira: A Wise One of the White Cliff Shaido; one of Sevanna's followers.
Melaine: A Wise One of the Jhirad sept of the Goshien Aiel; a dreamwalker. She is married to Bael and sister-wife to Dorindha and is a strong supporter of Rand.
Melindhra: A Maiden of the Spear of the Jumai Shaido; she is a Darkfriend. She is killed by Mat after she attacks him.
Mendan: A warrior; one of the guards of the Aes Sedai prisoners.
Mera: An Aiel woman. One of her daughters is training to be a Wise One.
Micara: A Wise One of the Shaido; she is a weak channeler.
Modarra: A Wise One of the Shaido; one of Sevanna's followers. She accompanies Therava back to the Aiel Waste.
Monaelle: A Wise One; she takes part in Elayne's and Aviendha's first-sister ceremony and watches over Elayne's pregnancy.

Muradin: A Shaido Aiel and first-brother of Couladin; he is sent to Rhuidean to become the new Shaido clan chief, but he does not return.

Nadric: A warrior of the Shaido Ail who is in the camp where Faile is held.
Naeise: A Maiden of the Spear of the Moshaine Shaido; she is one of the Aiel dispersed by Sammael.
Nandera: A Maiden of the Spear; one of Rand's followers; she fights in the Battle at Dumai's Wells and accompanies Rand to visit the Sea Folk.
Nerilea: A Maiden of the Spear who accompanies Rand to Caemlyn.
Nesair: A Maiden of the Spear of the Shaido Aiel; she is a follower of Rand.
Nevarin: A Wise One; she accompanies Perrin in Ghealdan.
Niagen: A Brotherless taken Gai'shan in the attack on Malden
Niella: A weaver and Aviendha's first-sister; she has been taken gai'shain.
Norlea: A Wise One of the Shaido Aiel; she takes part in the battle of Dumai's Wells and is part of the group of Wise Ones who are trying to lessen Sevanna's power.
Rhiale: A Wise One of the Shaido Aiel; she takes part in the battle at Dumai's Wells and is part of the group of Wise Ones who are trying to lessen Sevanna's power.
Rhian: A Maiden of the Spear; she confronts Rand at Stedding Tsofu.
Rhuarc: Of the Nine Valleys sept of the Taardad Aiel; he is the clan chief of the Taardad. He is married to Amys and Lian. Rhuarc is the first clan chief to support Rand al'Thor and plays a prominent part in Rand's dealings with the Aiel.
Riallin: A Maiden of the Spear; one of Rand's guards at the Sun Palace.
Rodera: A Maiden of the Spear of the Shaido Aiel; she is held as gai'shain after the Shaido are defeated.
Roidan: Of the Salt Flat Nakai and the leader of the Thunder Walkers; he is a siswai'aman.
Rolan: A warrior of the Mera'din who joined the Shaido. He sees Faile as his gai'shain even though she was taken by Sevanna. He is killed by Perrin.
Saeric: Of the Red Water Goshien; one of the teachers at the Black Tower.
Sanduin: An Aiel of the True Bloods society; Sorilea tries to match him with Egwene.
Sarendhra: A Maiden of the Spear of the Shaido Aiel; she is a follower of Rand.
Sarien: Part of Gaul's group which was searching for the Car'a'carn. He is killed when they are attacked by Orban and his men.
Sarinde: A Wise One from the Red Springs Hold of the Codarra Aiel; one of Rand's followers.
Seana: A Wise One of the Black Cliffs sept of the Nakai Aiel; a dreamwalker. She is killed by a Draghkar during the attack on Cold Rocks Hold.
Sefela: A Maiden of the Spear; she was present during the taking of the Stone of Tear.
Seirin: A warrior of the Shorara Tomanelle.
Sendara: A Maiden of the Spear of the Iron Mountain Taardad. She is one of the women who died for Rand.
Sevanna: A Shaido; roofmistress of the Comarda Hold and widow of the clan chief Suladric. She leads the Shaido to Alcair Dal and then is acknowledged as a Wise One. She leads the fight at Dumai's Wells against the Aes Sedai holding Rand. Using a call box, she contacts Sammael and Graendal to learn the secret of traveling. Sevanna takes even wetlanders as gai'shain and captures Faile and her friends. She is captured during the defeat of the Shaido.
Shaiel: Tigraine; her name means "Woman who is dedicated" in the Old Tongue; she is the daughter of Queen Mordrellen of Andor, sister of Luc, wife of Taringail Damodred, and mother of Galad and Rand; she went into the Aiel Waste, married Janduin, and gave birth to Rand on the slopes of the Dragonmount.
Shyanda: A Wise One; one of the participants in Elayne's and Aviendha's first-sister ceremony.
Somara: A Maiden of the Spear of the Bent Peak Daryne; one of Rand's guards. She is killed during the attack on the Sun Palace.
Someryn: A Shaido Wise One who follows Sevanna and is able to channel.
Sorilea: A Wise One of the Janda Chareen of Shende Hold; she leads the Wise Ones in Rhuidean. She is one of Rand's followers who distrusts Aes Sedai, but teaches Cadsuane how to Travel.
Sotarin: A Wise One; she guards the Aes Sedai under Sorilea.
Suladric: Clan chief of Shaido Aiel and husband of Sevanna. Sevanna only married him because of his position. After his death, the Wise Ones send Muradin to Rhuidean.
Sulin: A Maiden of the Spear and roofmistress of the Roof of the Maidens in Rhuidean; one of Rand's guards. She takes leadership of the Maidens who guard Rand. Later, she accompanies Perrin to Ghealdan.
Suraile: A Maiden of the Spear of the Moshaine Shaido; daughter of sept chief Maeric. She is separated from her parents when the Shaido Aiel are dispersed by Sammael.
Surandha: An apprentice to Sorilea studying to become a Wise One.
Surial: A Maiden of the Spear in Rand's guard.
Tamela: A Wise One who takes the role of Aviendha's mother in Elayne's and Aviendha's first-sister ceremony.
Taric: The youngest greatson of Amaryn. Sorilea thinks that he would make a good husband for Egwene.
Therava: A Shaido Wise One; she follows Sevanna and is part of the groups who holds Faile. After Perrin's forces defeat the Shaido, Therava leads some of the Shaido back to the Aiel Waste to rebuild.
Tialin: One of the Wise Ones in the camp at Cairhien who look after the da'tsang Aes Sedai
Timolan: Clan chief of the Miagoma Aiel. He thought that Rand had betrayed them, not knowing that he had been abducted by Aes Sedai.
Tion: A Shaido Wise One; one of Sevanna's followers. She sides with Therava in trying to take some power from Sevanna.
Tuandha: A Maiden of the Spear; she accompanies Perrin to Ghealdan.
Turol: The leader of the Stone Dogs warrior society; he tells the Maidens that Rand is going to attack one of the Forsaken (Rahvin).
Urien: Of the Two Spires sept of the Reyn Aiel; he is a Red Shield. He comes into contact with Ingtar and he helps Rand look for Liah in Shadar Logoth.
Viendre: A Wise One; she stands for Elayne's mother in the first sister ceremony between Elayne and Aviendha.
