General

One of the first Merit Badges introduced in March 2011.

  • Members earn a silver merit after two and a half years (or 30 months) as Staff
  • A gold merit is awarded after five cumulative years (or 60 months) as Staff; a second gold is awarded after 10 years (120 months), and a third gold after 15 years (180 months).
  • When it comes time to receive a fourth gold merit, a member is awarded a platinum merit instead of a fourth gold, and this is considered the highest level of this merit.

Only staff positions that are not eligible for other merits count for this position. See Staff Positions (Time Served) for Members who have served 30 months or more.

The platinum merit was first introduced after the Winter 2023 Executive Meeting and was first awarded in April 2023.
