General

One of the first Merit Badges introduced in March 2011.

  • Members earn a silver merit after two and a half years of consecutive membership within the community
  • A gold merit is awarded after five consecutive years of membership within the community; a second gold is awarded after 10 years, and a third gold after 15 years.
  • When it comes time to receive a fourth gold merit, a member is awarded a platinum merit instead of a fourth gold, and this is considered the highest level of this merit.

As Senior Members are automatically considered permanent members of the community unless they officially retire, there may be people who earn this award without being present in the community. There may also be people who had retired but that information did not enter the Library.

The platinum merit was first introduced after the Winter 2023 Executive Meeting and was first awarded in April 2023.
